Lutz/Anon. You missed out, pulling off the greatest illusion of them all. One that would make even Derren envious. That being: convincing whole populations that republics are democracies. Though determined denial of what the dictionary declares they are.
Let us each thank our own individual deities. That David hired Andy as his conduit to the supreme one. Rather than someone with the skill set of Darren. Who could probably convince most of us, that Dave IS the supreme one.

I think it’s probably a bad idea to think of the hacktivists now known as Anonymous as technically the same group as the original ‘Anonymous’. Initially it was “a decentralized online community acting anonymously in a coordinated manner, usually toward a loosely self-agreed goal, and primarily focused on entertainment. ” (Wiki)

The name seems to have been usurped by individuals undoubtedly part of the original Anonymous but have a shared anti-authoritarian bent and, I would say, have romantic ideas of the Anonymous entity being a kind of freedom fighter. It reminds me a lot of the concept of a ‘Stand Alone Complex’ from the anime/manga ‘Ghost in the Shell’.
