The only exception is like Will (above) said for quadriplegics. For them, it’s brilliant, for everyone else, they’re just being lazy. Yay for not having to move your arse off the couch.

I’ve just been watching Trick of the mind again.

My favorite part is when Derren hypnotises chap to feel wozzled. I love it. Makes me giggle continuously when he starts laughing. Do some more of that please.

While our brains do emit readable signals, our ability to control those signals voluntarily is extremely difficult to the point of absurdity. You would literally need to train to use this device, or you’ll find yourself inadvertently switching the TV on and off ad-nauseum. Sounds like a real gimmick.

A much better idea would be something like XBox’s Kinect which reads your gestures. You would learn simple gestures for on/off, channel up/down, volume up/down etc.. Hopefully you wouldn’t look like a retard though.

What a fantastic device. I wonder if it cane out of research for quadriplegics or limbless births. Many individuals have birth problems or trauma’s that leave them unable to control their bodies effectively. This technology could easily be modified to control appliances, or possibly speakers. I wonder how long before Steven Hawkings will be advertising this product. I tried to work with a disadvantaged child 30 years ago to convert a Tandy Radioshack -80 (affectionately known as Trash 80 – contender to the early Apple 2C) computer into a device that would allow him to do a binary selection on letters allowing him to communicate. Unfortunately I failed, but many deserving and disadvantaged people will benefit from this technology.

There is a very simular game controler for pc already available. From the reviews it takes a lot of practice even to do simple commands. The technology will improve I’d dare say.
