Really interesting, I have to completely disagree with being able to upload his consciousness though. Computers will never be able to experience emotion due to their preprogrammed responses.

Why do I get the feeling that it;s sloppy journalism here (on New Scientists behalf). I can’t be bothered subscribing to NS just to read this article and then find the papers cited, but I suspect that the research doesn’t say that these hamsters ‘reverse’ the ageing process, just slow it right down.

If the computer clone is an exact replication of his intellect it will know what he does. If it knows what he does, then it will know that it isn’t “him”. If it doesn’t know that it isn’t “him”. To all intents and purposes, it won’t be “him”.
Send in the clones?
