Wow, so could you turn the gene off after getting a limb amputated or something? Then maybe it would grow back the right way without the problem that needed amputation in the first place. This reminds me of starfish.

Wahey! I was part of the Southampton stage door posse! Went on the Tuesday night... the guy who was there cranking out the cheese jokes was a legend! What kind of cheese do you use to tempt a bear out of a cave with? haha classic
Fab show, and got to go on stage too which was pretty swanky. Definately think the tweaks you have put in the show this time round make it work better than last year. Tough luck on the Olivier, but take care and best wishes for the rest of the tour xx

I agree with RColdbreath, which if made to make an official statement, the scientists would, too.
Jody's a nut. We're talking about facts not make believe. Mickey Mouse also had no part in the experiment.

The guy could have literally dropped dead of a heart attack the very moment this guru person put his hands on him and I wouldn't have been convinced at all. It is unfortunate that more people can't see through this kind of thing, but it isn't easy to find that balance of emotion/instincts and logic/reason.

This behavior can't be encouraged, that's for sure. Why would someone claim to have such a magical power and even go as far as to demonstrate on someone? Whether he actually believed he could do it or not he is using a scare tactic, trying to scare people into respecting or looking up to him in some capacity, which gives him a kind of power over anyone who might fall for it. This is a truly bad kind of person as far as I'm concerned, or at least an ignorant person doing a bad thing.

I think Derren has mastered the art of the false explanation. The explanation for the lottery effect is arguably more entertaining than the trick itself!
