Good grief, that is just SO odd! What is that meant to be, like some sort of troll or alien or something?

Looks like a mandrake to me – and it’s quite a task to dig those blighters up.
“A furrow must be dug around the root until its lower part is exposed, then a dog is tied to it, after which the person tying the dog must get away. The dog then endeavours to follow him, and so easily pulls up the root, but dies suddenly instead of his master. After this the root can be handled without fear.”
haha i’d like to know what that mahoosive bulge is all about. strange looking thing isn’t he… It? Yeah it kinda looks like morph has let himself go a bit. Lol

Hmmm no arguments over who gets a leg, a breast, or rump.
I’m with Hal here-
that’s definately a Mandrake root as featured in “Pan’s Labrynth” and “Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets”. Apparently what kills the dog is it’s deadly banshee shriek from being yanked from the ground by it’s hair! Ear protection is advised. Fortunately it seems this one has no mouth http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandrake_(plant)

If that’s actually real, then it is totally amazing… I want one for my garden!
He’s holding it the wrong way up!
I’m placing bets the soil was in some kind of mould or something.
Rather funny looking penis there mate. No offence.

I think they made it in the same kind of manner as these … http://www.dogonews.com/2009/09/06/you-may-be-tempted-to-pay-10-for-this-piece-of-fruit ..
Ofcourse those buddha pears are molded on a tree, it might be a bit more challenging to mold a root in the earth.

That is so cool! Puts that ‘demon tomato’ completely in the shade! http://www.walterreeves.com/uploads/JPGs/oddtomatomargaretbolton.JPG
However, I can’t help but think that the person behind the camera must have been a very attractive lady potato, if you know what I mean…
Okay, that’s awesome.
