The Gathering was a specially made recording of a live show shot in a mystery location in front of an invited audience of magic experts and celebrity fans.

A one-hour fusion of magic, suggestion, psychology and misdirection, it gave the cynics the chance to decide: is Derren a fraud or should he be burnt at the stake?

Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Reece Shearsmith and Jean-Christophe Novelli were just some of Derren’s subjects chosen at random. The audience also included Jonathan Ross, Simon Pegg, Al Murray, Sarah Alexander and Rupert Penry-Jones.

As Derren said: “I’ve always loved performing live and of course it gives people a chance to see that everything’s fair.”
