Here’s a little bit of info regarding the third experiment of the series which will air on Friday Nov 4th. It comes from the press release:

Derren Brown returns to our screens with “The Experiments”, a brand new four part series for Channel 4. Each stand-alone episode asks and answers a single question regarding human behaviour, and features Derren’s inventive and jaw-dropping mixture of stunts, suggestion and thought-provoking entertainment.

In ‘The Guilt Trip‘, the third show in the series, an unwitting participant is placed at the centre of an elaborate, hidden-camera murder mystery – can Derren convince him to admit to a murder he didn’t commit?

Remember to tune in this Friday for the first episode in the series, The Assassin.

The Assassin (Episode 1), airs Friday 21st October at 9pm on Channel 4.
The Gameshow (Episode 2), airs Friday 28th October at 9pm on Channel 4.
The Guilt Trip (Episode 3), airs Friday 4th November at 9pm on Channel 4.

Derren I’m now catching your flow more, I’m seeing an investigation into things I thought a lot about when I was 18 and upwards and back then I did look in your direction wondering when you’d investigate these things and now here they are!! Wow! I guess you’ve been waiting a long time to get these shows on air! Good kick for the best audience! X

Should not be his hardest task. In the USA some 40% of people convicted for murder and later exonerated due to to clear DNA evidence confessed during normal police interrogation. True Darren will be much more subtle, but anyone interested in false confessions can Google the innocence project

“can Derren convince him to admit to a murder he didn’t commit?”
Doesn’t that depend? If he’s a politician for example, he wouldn’t admit to it even if he had committed it.

Apparently, Bruce Jones, who played Les Battersby, genuinely thought he was the Yorkshire Ripper for about an hour or two because he was a) drunk and b) arrested by the Police for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and interrogated so hard and so penetratingly that he began to question his own life. (This is based on dim memories of an interview he gave Teletext about a decade ago, so don’t take it as gospel) So yes, under the right conditions. Incidentally, I don’t even trust that CAPTCHA code. There’s a subliminal message hidden in it to make me kill Wincey Willis or something, isn’t there?

Hey Derren, excited about the latest experiment ^__^ I recently watched heaps of your shows one night when I had a bad bout of insomnia. I especially loved the “Investigates” where you exposed that total douchebag Joe Powers. It was beautiful. Don’t ever stop being you. Love and a big hug, Annakate xxxxxxx

Enjoying the show so far. I’m a great believer in the fact that successful sportsmen/women need to have self confidence and an utter belief in their ability. I know Derren doesn’t like footie but what if he hypnotised the players of a relatively minor team, for arguments sake Accrington Stanley, into believing they are in the best form of their lives, unbeaten and unbeatable, and then arrange for them to play a premiership team in a friendly, who themseleves have been the subject of negative subliminal messages. My money would be on AS.

^_^ What’s next? The secret to what the goverment is really thinking and doing? The science behind comparisions and thought? A show to tell us how awesomely amazing you are at figureing, analyzing and proving what science have been trying to do for years AND showing us the sheer importance of how our thinking and actions effects others?…=D
Great series btw! Hope the rest goes well! ^_^
