Derren Brown (the artist) show now at Rebecca Hossack Gallery
Last night was the opening of the new art show for Derren’s latest works. The gallery will be showing them from 24th Feb until 12 March at 28 Charlotte Street, Fitzrovia, London W1T 2NA. The gallery is free and you can just turn up – but please check the opening times and details on their website by clicking here.
*sigh* I so wish I could get up there and view this marvellous exhibition. But sadly I shan’t be able to.
Btw, what lovely photos. 🙂

Excellent. I gather the launch went well? Shame I won’t be able to make it to the exhibition.
See you at that tour-thingy next month.
Cheers.
R.
Can’t wait to see it! 😀
Well done Darren, you paintings are spectacular, would love to watch your process.
Imagine having the painting of opposite you in the throne room.
I don’t think anyone would dare use it.
I showed my sister these paintings, as she is an art student and I thought she’d love them> She did, but also said no way in hell did Derren paint them! I tried and tried to convince her that he is in fact a very talented artist, to which she replied “Nahh, its some sort of mind trick”. Ha!
Great work Derren. I love how you pay close attention with thier features, and with great detail.
Looking good Mr B………did you use a potato on any of them?
cant wait, shall be there tommorrow afternoon
Time to plan a trip to town…just to see that self-portrait. I find it really disturbing, so I must stand before it.
WOOOO, I’ll be there! 😀
Where’s the parrot Derren?
The phrase “violon d’Ingres” comes to mind…
Wow you’ve also made some impressive wax models too in the first pic. The second picture model looks less real (sorry)
If there’s a reason to live in London there’s one or two.
1. Derren lives there and you can stalk him.
2. You don’t miss opportunities like this.
Superb paintings Derren, as always. Can’t get to the gallery unfortunately so i’ll just have to practice on my own paintings instead, someday i may have a fraction of your talent. Good luck with the exhibition and all your other work.
Fabulous. So when are you doing the Queen?

Omg you are amazing! Can’t wait intell the show at the cliffs in march xxxx
im, being as modest as i am 🙂 , think im good at art but you…. YOU are on a whole different level to all artists know to the human race.
When you uploaded photos on twitter you cant really get the size in your head, but these photos show the hugeness of them all.
Also as i live in th e south east of the south west 🙂 i cant see this :'(
hope to see you on your tour though.
best wishes
lovely pics
Thanks for the photos as I can’t get there to see them in person. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, they’re all brilliant but the one of your mum is just divine. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Take Care

loved the paintings, well worth a visit, very talented alrounder Mr Brown x
I really like this painting of Derren. Those eyes wow, they speak of deep deep loneliness 🙁
Only a brilliant mind with “seeing” capabilities
can paint such brilliant portraits!!
That is what it is all about, you just have to see what is before you
and put it down on canvas, easier said than done, I know!
You are really lucky and gifted Derren and I am jealous!
🙂
Looks good!
Hope you’re keeping it fun what you’re doing and not getting into the nitty gritty business mind about it!

well done i hope to see ur photos soon such talent xxxxx
Congratulations and best of luck with the show… excellent paintings.
awww, SO cute! 🙂
(no i am not being sarcastic! that group photo IS cute!)
Wow. Spectacular works! I hope the exhibition is the huge success it deserves to be.
Amazing!
Woah… I cannot wait to see it 😛
Excellent work on your parents but i have to say that your self portrait is less than excellent. I think you did yourself a disservice. Of all your artwork i like that one the least.
Still better than what i can do – great job
We just happened upon the gallery on the way to the bike shop yesterday. What a great experience to be sorrounded by these huge masterpieces (all to ourselves) that we saw coming together via Twitter! Mrs Browns eyes particularly striking. Fantastic, but sadly bigger than my flat.
Interesting that it seems you’ve painted the red out of your hair. You’re not ashamed of being a fellow redhead are you Derren?
Fantastic… Thay look A-mazing! All the best with the exhibition :-))
Wow, I wish my work would turn out like that! 😀
I can’t go due to money and travelling and I’m very very busy! 🙁
Keep up the great work 😀
Btw love the photos 😀
My husband and I got a chance to go to this last night and it was absolutely amazing. Derren is so nice and genuine. Lots for words really. This has made my year!!!!
and we were there through every step of the way :’)
I visited the exhibition this morning. These portraits are incredible to see first hand. Derren, you are an amazing artist.
Oh wow Derren, those are fantastic – You are such a great artist.
I would love to go to the gallery to see your work, but i live in Scotland so it’s obviously not possible.
Keep up the great work 🙂 Look forward to seeing more of your work
🙂 x
These 3 paintings are beautiful. I think that’s a gorgeous self-portrait Derren but you’re more handsome than that! 🙂
Oh my god, Derren, you’re an absolutely brilliant artist.
I did not expect this at all.
We called in to see the exhibition yesterday, the pictures are so much better in real life, now debating if one would look OK on our wall! Looking forward to the new show, my daughter Amy is a big fan, she is reading up on the mind and how to influence it – Scarey
Also, “Derren Brown (the artist)”? Is DB now keen to portray himself as a ‘proper’ artist? Hope so! I just hope his work doesn’t become inaccessible as most work by conceptual artists (I find) often does.
Wonderful art work Derry.Did you only show 3 pieces this time? Your art style has definitely changed from caricature to realistic, and from small size to BIG! Those 3 paintings are some of your best, I think.
Well done and Happy Birthday for manana.x
Are there no ends to your talents my boy…..very impressed; how do you make them so life like??!! Also reading your latest book at the moment; surprising how much I can relate too considering I would say we have very different lifestyles; makes me smile!
Interesting how Derren’s self-portrait is a mirror image
That’s a nasty scar on the left side of your face, nose to eye, It appears to be a classic case of mis direction the way your eyes and mouth do not follow your nose (upon close inspection). I like the touch-up, (from my internet copies) it appears that you added a lot of blue to the picture and put a much darker tone on your outlook. Do I see a pensive interior stare of creative thought, or that thousand yard PTST stare of shell shocked warriors. Do you read your own face as well as you read mine ?
A comment about your vocation. I find your ‘magic’ truly skilled and mystifying, I much prefer the harder Psycho-logic-drama shows helping others to self actualize. Here your ‘magic like’ skills are eclipsed by your love of & for your audience (fellowman). Can you bottle that love?
