Has to be said, I think this is Derren’s best series for a long time!
There’s comedy, there’s magic, there’s torture of innocent spectators. What more could you want?

I am worried about the post-traumatic effects of these experiments on the protagonists…
But I like the show…

These experiments are some of the most important things Derren has done so far.

Awesome Idea…

One of my favourite Topics in Pseudo-Science has always been the idea of “repressed memories” Not a single trait in modern psychology has caused so much damage and pain in its victims than the idea that you can “repress” memories of a traumatic event.

‘The Assasin’ was in my oppinion just mediocre Entertainment, ‘The Gameshow’ was a really fine piece of your work, but this has the potential to be a masterpiece just like ‘The Heist’ or Seance.

I’m really looking forward to this… 🙂

Oh, it looks like an episode of Doctor Who about Agatha Christie.

November 2, 2011 at 2:25 pm

Unfortunately the answer to that question is; yes, it happens all the time.
Looking forward to you showing how it can happen.

Coppers badgering you for hours, off tape, in the name of friendly questioning with repeated suggestions such as “You did it, didn’t you!” While you sit in a state of confusion just doesn’t happen any more.

Well that is if they stopped it yesterday. Hypnosis at best and the seeding of ideas planted in the unconscious part of the brain.

I have friend and family in the force and I have a family member who has been on the receiving end of ‘friendly’ police questioning. I have seen first hand how someone can believe black is white after one of their friendly information gathering interviews. Shame he didn’t realise he had the right to terminate the experience (but he was trying to be a good and helpful citizen).

I hope people will watch this show and really start questioning everything!

Lotte says:

Looks like this show is a follow-up on the assassin. Imposing guilt and amnesia on the same person and you have the perfect patsy.

S Benjamin says:

If someone had stitched me up like this, I really would have had to confess to murder (unless of course there was a big fat cheque for me on revelation!). Was there a big fat cheque at the end of this, for screwing with this poor guy’s mind?
