Could Derren persuade any of his group of responsible, middle-management businessmen and women to steal £100,000 in an armed robbery? Such was the premise for one of Derren’s most ambitious and challenging specials to date.

The programme demonstrates how little it takes to cross into deviant behaviour, and is a masterclass in persuasion.

The Heist was nominated for the Tape & Film Editing – Entertainment & Situation Comedy category at the Royal Television Society Craft Awards and for Best Variety at the Rose d’Or in 2006, for Entertainment Programme at the BAFTAs, the Golden Rose for Best Show at the Rose d’Or and Best Entertainment Programme at the Broadcast Awards in 2007.
