Nottingham – 2nd night
Well, if I may say so, I think that was even better than last night. First time I’ve had 2,000 people standing and cheering before the (very) end. This is good – feels like the show has really found itself. And that’s great, given the extra pressure of the West End this year. Am sat back in the hotel having a pizza – which I know is a bad idea this late – and a scotch, waiting for the crew to come back. Tomorrow is a treat day. A day off, aside from travel, and some fun is planned.
Thank you to all the lovely people who queued outside in the drizzle to say hello afterwards. I’ve really enjoyed the last couple of nights.
That really is quite enough pizza. Very tasty though: pepperoniΒ and chorizo. if those aren’t just two of my favourite things on a pizza, than I don’t know what they are. But I shall stop, lest there are windy-pops. Ner-night.
x
Mmmm pizza. That DOES sound yummy…
Glad you’re enjoying the tour so far. Great that it’s being recieved so well. I don’t know how you manage to come up with so many new ideas year after year, it must be really amazing to get a standing ovation most nights…Genius.
I hear you went to Debenhams…You have my deepest sympathy. No really. But you must have made the sales assistant’s day I imagine.
Enjoy your day off!
Glad it’s getting better and better! I am beyond happy that you are doing a West End run, and I missed the show last year due to being out the country and all. That pizza sounds good. Making me hungry. And drizzle awww. I miss drizzle. Enjoy a well earned day off y’all. x
Hi Derren,
Was at the Nottingham show (front row might I add) tonight and absolutely loved it, am torn between which I preferred out of this show and Mind Reader. Although I am crying into my pillow that you selected a lady sat right beside me during the second half, scuppering my chances of getting on stage. But I will forgive you as the show was ace!
Kate π
ps I am sorry if you heard my boyfriend shout ‘f*** me he didn’t do that’ towards the end of the show, but rest assured he got a swift kick to the shins from me!
i’m glad it’s going so well but then again i never had a doubt! sweet pizza dreams π
Oh Derren, I don’t know what it is your doing but you have stunned so many of your fans…
It’s actually making quite nervous to see you in London..
xx
The show was brilliant! It was well worth waiting in the drizzle, you were perfectly lovely, even if you look a bit scary in this photo: http://tinyurl.com/caszof hehe x
Haha windy-pops, love it.
Fab show, I really enjoyed it and we made sure to wait at the end to say hi and get a piccy.
And chorizo is quite possibly one of the greatest things to have with anything – pizza, pasta, baguette, nom nom nom!
Sleep well π
Just wanted to say thanks for a GREAT show. I was there in the stalls enjoying every second. A truly exhilarating show, full of surprises. Thank you again for another incredible experience. It erodes my intellect attempting to decipher how it was all achieved. Truly a wonder.
Back to writing the dissertation for now… boo
So pleased to hear that the tour is going well. Target the West End. A sure hit like one of Robin Hood’s arrows.
Regards, Tom x
Lovely updates DeΓΒ΄arren…am really pleased to read that all is going so well! and how the venues are …gives a great idea so far…
No piccies of the Pi-pa-peppechorizoni though?
Anyways, …enjoy your scotch, and your day off with the rest tommorow…
Tatty night

Hi Derren,
I was at the show in Notts tonight and absloutly loved it, lived up to all my expectations – I think I left with a headache trying to remotly understand what the hell happened at the end there! I have a friend going to the show next week and I promise I wont tell her a thing!! Seriously incredible show, the ending topped anything I’ve seen you do before – can’t wait for Enigma to be on TV!!
Thanks for a fantastic night!
Chris
I was thinking about shelling out the $1500 it would cost me to come across the pond and see the show, but it sure would save me the hassle if you’d do a tour over here.
I had the impression from the moment the show had finished it was the best yet!
I’m so glad it’s going so well for you! It’s always nice to being doing something you love, and although I do get the impression every night is never ”as good as it could be” it’s nice to hear your thoughts and feels on how the show is progressing.
I was talking to a friend of mine from uni, (we both saw the last night in hastings) And I wondered how different the show is on the last night from the first night? I know the main body of the show must stay the same, but there must be some change from the first to the last that makes it seem like a whole new show in some respects?
Take Care!
Chris
yay for pizza π xx great to hear your meeting and greeting after the shows. 2 weeks today until we see you – can’t wait. Hope your voice keeps going strong. π x
ugh, how I wish I lived in England! well… Is this show going to be on TV one day, so the pour souls living abroud can watch it?
It’s wonderful that the show is going so well and that all your hard work is paying off! I’m looking forward to Oxford – I’ve relocated my tickets after a brief panic yesterday :p
Enjoy your day off – sounds like you’ve earned it π
Derren,
You’ve inspired me to write on here – something I don’t usually do. Saw the show last night and am still buzzing. A fantastic night, which has left me bewildered, excited and awestruck
Anyway, thank you for a memorable show – truly unique and deserving of many accolades.
Now, if I can just figure out how you do it, damn you…….
I cant believe I didnt wait outside the stage door! I didnt want to seem like a crazy stalker though π
Brilliant show Derren thank you!!
Glad the tour has started off well. Looking forward to Norwich.
Glad you enjoyed it as much as we did, and we should be thanking you for coming out to see us!
Excellent show, you fellas who still have yet to see him are in for a treat.
x
Just wanted to say I really enjoyed the show, I’ve never seen any of your stuff before but was completely enthralled by the end.
I’ll definately be coming again, and it gives us something to talk about in my psychology lessons for the next couple of weeks.
Absolutely brilliant!! As per usual, we were sat up til the early hours discussing the “ins and outs” of the effects…………….superb π
Hi Derren – Long time fan, I’ve seen all your shows and was at Enigma last night. The whole thing was brilliant, and the way it tied together at the end was wonderful, another fantastic pay-off.
Woah, it was an amazing show! (:
I was on the tram home just standing there like “How did he do it?! HOW?!”
I know it’d be a long way off now but I really hope you bring it out on DVD once the tour’s done. (:
Hi Derren
Wow!! all I can say is Wow!! Your show last night was amazing, i am still speechless now.
Cannot wait to see more of you in the future.
I was at the show last night and it was awesome. Second time I’ve seen you (first being at the Garrick during the London run last year), and every bit as enjoyable as the first time. Your obligatory head messing finale was superb as usual.
I can tell you what is in chorizo and pepperoni…
SNOUTS, ENTRAILS AND E-NUMBERS!!!!!
Enjoy
Your friendly neighborhood vegetarian
lauralou: Beetroot juice is an E-number. So is vitamin C (ascorbic acid). I don’t get this irrational fear of certified additives…
I still wouldn’t eat most chorizo or pepperoni, though, although they are quite yummy. Not because of scary E-numbers or fear of snouts, but because my personal code of ethics dictates I can’t eat meat from cruelly treated animals. I only eat organic or free-range meat — at least that way I’m reasonably sure that the animal actually got some sun and fresh air.
That’s a choice everyone has to make for themselves, though. Also, it’d help if free-range/organic was a bit less expensive!
Superb show last night. Well deserving of the standing ovation.
My only gripe is that i caught a frisbee, bottled it and let the guy next to me go up! I’m gutted now!
Great show last night, Derren. We were among the 2000 who stood and clapped! (Middle of front row on tier 1.)
It’s even more impressive to see your stuff live and in the flesh than on TV.
Best of luck with the rest of the tour.
You can get pretty good vegetarian pepperoni, actually. Not sure about chorizo. Chorizo is awesome apart from the gross lumps of fat in it.
I am so jealous of all you lucky buggers going to see this thing. Sounds like it’s amazing.
Sounds like an amazing show, I can’t wait!
Cya tomorrow night Derren! π
Amazing show, we truly enjoyed it – my fiancΓΒ© and I waited outside for a while, but had to catch a bus!
Anyway, best of luck with the rest of the tour, I’m sure every night will be just as incredible as last night’s show.
In Arabic they say “Alf Mabrouk” that translates to 1,000 congratulations!
Not nearly enough times you should be congratulated on last nights show! It was amazing!!!
chorizo windy pops under the duvet?
Whats wrong with that unless your sharing with someone who don’t like a bit of sausage in the night! hahaha π
xXx
Glad all is going well and you are enjoying the tour.Pepporoni pizza my favourite although would have thought Derren would have been more a Hawaian man.;)
All the best Derren hope the tour contiues to go from strength to strength
Really enjoyed it, I drove from Brum, it was my birthday treat (the show not the long slightly scary trip on the motorway). Good stuff! It was the first live show I’ve managed to catch, as the tickets sell out so fast! Money well spent though and I shall try and catch the next tour too.
I’m wondering if people pester you when you get spotted when out having fun? It must be hard to relax and be a ‘normal’ person with so many ardent fans. Yikes!
PS your comment box does weird things with an apostrophe!
I was at the second show in Nottingham, a frisbee landed in my lap and I found myself up on stage XXXXXXX-NO SPOILERS PLEASE-XXXXX π
Terrifying but amazing. First time we had seen you live and we were totally blown away. The whole show was fantastic and you deserved the standing ovation. Haven’t stopped talking about it yet, especially your comment about upstairs pens which totally freaked me out. How did you know?!
Heeeey π
I was at this show and I also ended up on stage!
We deffinatley got our moneys worth π
Brilliant show!
Derren I really can’t believe I met you after the show! I told my friends at School the day after and they were so Jealous its unreal. When I queued up outside some dude was shouting “Hes already gone!”. Some people lost faith and walked/ran off into the distance. But we hanged in there and funny enough there you were π I came out of the show speechless literally. I would just like to thank you Derren! I only owned 1 Dvd before I saw your show lol but now I own all…Good times! My family are all fans now. Good luck with the rest of the tour and cant wait to see your future shows! Lee x
