Derren Brown Tour 2013: Brand New Show

A few of you have contacted us asking about the next tour. We are happy to confirm there’s another tour starting March 2013. Derren hasn’t written it yet but following his Olivier Award successes, it’ll sell out quickly so get in there ASAP if you want to secure a seat.

A few theatres are anticipating a lot of demand and are releasing tickets early. We’ll let you know as soon as we do, where it will be playing, and when we have further details of the tour.

To confirm, this is a new show and not Svengali. Please note the performance will not be suitable for under 12’s.

That’s right: we wanna see your goatee! Whether it’s naturally grown or an artificial augmentation to your features (see: fuzzy felt, marker pen, bits of carpet) we want to see it.

Now, because there are so bloody many of you, we’re splitting the competition out over our two favourite social networks separately.

IMPORTANT: The blog comments will remain hidden so nobody but us will see your details and all entries will be deleted after the competition.

And so Twitter fans, if you want to win a pair of tickets to see the show on Friday 10th August be ready to do the following:

Upload your new profile pic featuring you in your niftiest top-lip and chinwear and your stariest hypno-eyes as your new profile pic and post a tweet saying “I’ve heard that #DerrenBrownIsBack in London town…”

IMPORTANT: The blog comments will remain hidden so nobody but us will see your details and all entries will be deleted after the competition.

If you are not on Facebook or Twitter and want to take part – you’ll just have to join Facebook or Twitter!

We must stress that we are only offering tickets and that you must be able to arrange your own transport to and from the venue as well as any accommodation you may require.

Good luck and remember: once Derren Brown – Svengali closes it will never be performed live again.

Competition closes at midnight on Tuesday 24th July. Winners will be selected at random.

Best of luck!

Derren Brown wins Best Entertainment and Family Award

“Derren Brown has tonight collected the second Olivier Award of his career, winning for his mind-boggling West End hit Svengali in the Best Entertainment and Family Award category.

The entertainer and master of psychological trickery was first recognised by the most prestigious of theatre awards in 2006 for his second West End outing Something Wicked This Way Comes. Since then the television star has appeared on stage in shows Mind Reader – An Evening Of Wonders and Derren Brown – Enigma before returning with Svengali, arguably his darkest show to date, last summer.

When it was announced earlier this year that the show will return to the West End for a limited run this July, Brown spoke of his love of performing in the theatre, saying: “I enjoy the stage shows more than anything else. Live on stage is the best place for what I do: it’s unpredictable and the audience knows there’s no possibility of judicious editing.”

Audiences were indeed baffled by the unbelievable tricks and wonders on show in Svengali, but also thoroughly entertained by Brown’s natural showmanship that had the audience not only shaking with fear but with laughter too.

The acclaimed production was co-written by Brown and long-term collaborators Iain Sharkley and Stephen Long, and directed by Polly Findlay.”
