Has next week’s lucky person already been picked, or do we have to go somewhere to submit ourselves/numbers etc? (oh dear, that sounds poor English, but you know what I mean.)

You’re awesome Derren. Tonights show was killa.

Can’t wait for next weeks, hope I don’t miss it though what with suddenly being at uni. D:

    DB: FTW.

what number is it a few of you are ringing????? was there a number in the paper today too????? i read the sun but never noticed…

    25 September 2009

I haven’t read any newspapers this week, so my drawing of a fish with bubbles was way off (Mind you, would the bubbles count as circles?)

Despite that, REALLY enjoyed the show, particularly the blind man. It’s not just about the tricks; when you find someone who’s got a genuine, amazing skill like that, it’s jaw-dropping stuff. Favourite part of the show would have to be…When Katie stepped out of her isolation box. Stonehenge had been mentioned so often; and when she stepped outside, and Derren said, “And now you can see where you are,” my mental-penny suddenly dropped, and I thought, “Oh no…No, she’s not at stonehenge…???”

Bring it on, casino! If this man can take down the lottery, then he can take down you!

@Mandy – I believe it’s the number which flashes up during the advert featured in this ‘Beat A Casino’ trailer.

    LC x

    – thats not us! – please don’t call the number – thanks – Phillis

  12. ferkle
    25 September 2009

Mandy, the number features very briefly in the advert for next weeks show.

  13. Karissa
    25 September 2009

Watching the show again…didn’t even notice all the freaking circles in the background behind the painting!

Funny how our subconscious mind works 😉

  14. Karissa
    26 September 2009

Oh and the eye thing. You see the light reflecting in her eyes so people subconsciously think of the concentric circles. Her eyes resembled a target.

Also, what is the number everyone is banging on about?

Sorry for commenting a lot, this event has interested me a lot this evening 🙂

  15. Chris Amott
    26 September 2009

I’m sorry. I enjoyed the show but a lot of it was rehashed and repeats from earlier shows or other sources. The main event was pretty disappointing. I love Derren’s work normally but there was too much suggestion on the screen, not less the centre of the womens pupils. Duh! It’s too clear to me now that Derren relies so much on subliminal messages that to me they are no longer subliminal.

I will continue to follow him though ’cause he still does good stuff now and again.

    26 September 2009

I’m hopeless at names but I never forget a face. He’s behind me but I can’t see his face. If I can’t make it in my mind I’ll never see you in reality. Did you know that they think the greeks thought that lions couldn’t mate how silly. There can only be “One Highlander”.If you want my head you can have it. j/k

  20. Jen
    26 September 2009

I called the number. Didn’t dare leave a message. Hopefully they’ll do 1471…

  21. Jen
    26 September 2009

The answerphone is already full anywho. Popular chap. x

  22. Norbs
    26 September 2009

I drew a large cock and balls.

Idle scribbling, subliminal persuasion or description of the show.

Who knows what forces were at work?

  23. Bazza
    26 September 2009

I found myself drawing a boat but then I was watching Howard’s way at the time.

  24. Gaming Accessories
    26 September 2009

It is quite interesting. I also want to take part in ti. How can I take part in it?? Come o I also want to win it.

  25. Anthony D
    26 September 2009

I got it because of the 3 circles in both of her eyes. Im really looking forward to next weeks show 😀

  26. Emily
    26 September 2009

I left a message with my name and number. Feel a bit silly, hope it really was a number for this show and not a random stranger! I didn’t really know what to say lol.

  27. Karen
    26 September 2009

I had papers but was nothing in it. Only one we had from his list was The Sun but I checked the page it was an Arnald Clark advert…. I guess he didn’t put it in the Scottish version.

  28. Nicki
    26 September 2009

There wasn’t just one number in the trailer. There were at least 8. I text a couple after ringing and hearing the mailbox was full, and they had no idea what the hell I was on about lol, so gave up after the first 4.

  29. BenS
    26 September 2009

@Mark R – I believe the Kinder Egg image you are looking for is here:

  30. phillis
    26 September 2009

Please again a reminder – NOT to call any numbers in the trailers. Thanks.

  31. kischiman
    26 September 2009

    Wow, that was impressive!
btw – very funny thing with the lightbulb: “…ends with a BIG BANG – ALAKAZAM”

  32. Felix
    26 September 2009

It had nothing to do with the newspaper ads or psychic ability. It was Katie’s eyes that made so people think of concentric circles. The only big mystery is how Derren got Katie to paint concentric circles in the first place.

  33. Hannah Derbyshire
    26 September 2009

Now, now, surely asking us not to call the numbers is a demonstration of the power of negative suggestion 😉

  34. Bletherskite
    26 September 2009

Well on my sheet of paper I had drawn a tree, a bridge, a pyramid, a square, a star, a cylinder, a space rocket, a boot, a crescent moon, some chevrons, a couple of very random squiggles and 3 different versions of concentric circles.

I was pretty aware that the tree and the bridge probably came from the clip when Derren met Katie to give her the task. The concentric circles came about because I was thinking science museum – solar system (one of my drawings has planets included). During the prog I became aware of the posters around the museum which all had circles in them and when watching Katie although I didn’t think ‘concentric circles’, I did observe how defined her eyes were and the lights shining in them.

I never made the Stonhenge connection at all, so thought that was neat.

Slightly depressed that I really doubt it’s me (that I’m the viewer) seeing as I’m 14 and have no savings. Especially not £5000. I get £8 pounds a week for my paper round… but I am the man of the house now. AND I’ve told my mum, if I die, she has to carry on the ‘family business’… I’m not strange at all.

Feel free (anyone lol) to contact me if you’re interested in becoming part of my PAPERROUND EMPIRE. I’ve promoted my mum to Deputy Paper-girl (seeing as she drove me round when it was slightly wet last year…that £8 was really worth it) and my cousin to Junior Paper-girl (just because I make her come with me sometimes).

    26 September 2009

hm, how come the viewer does not know you are gambling with his/her money then? It’s not really a risk then, as you could not have gambled with his money without his/her permission. Yes, it will be revealed coming Friday then I guess.

Concentric circles huh … ah, I see, I checked from the wrong angle, the image … ehehehe .. I’m so darn good. I always focus from another angle. The screen was not down there but up a bit to the right … The projector needs to be reset with the correct settings .. you hear that?

Mine probably was more the symbol for many eyes on one object … ehehehehehe …. (that’s what I think up now). The object’s essence is in the eye of the beholder .. one of the best phrases I’ve ever heard .. so true. Normally.

  37. RAINIVANA
    26 September 2009

Derren , hope you dceide to reveal that the tricks were all done by sleght of hand and not suggestion etc at the end, obviously you will not reveal exactly how they were done or some of the fans will feel themselves fools, but telling them all IT IS a trick would be much admired and hopefully make them think and use scientific evaluation in future…, but maybe they do not want to and prefer to think there are semi-paranormal powers at work???

  38. RAINIVANA
    26 September 2009

    ok

  39. Ophelia
    27 September 2009

I actually can’t wait until the last event! im absolutley fascinated by Derren and his trickery. I think my friday nights will now feel a bit empty without seeing him on the tv! although it may be a blessing in disguise as i am getting his shows muddled up with my psychology lectures :S. Good luck on friday Derren not that you need it

  40. Rebecca
    27 September 2009

I did that and I started off with a map, then a boat, then an eye, then a circle, then rocks, then stones, then stone henge and I had circles and stonehenge written all over my piece of paper
I had a bulls eye with gaps in it too

  41. Emily
    27 September 2009

Loved the show. I’m a southern hemisphere dweller and participated in the website remote viewing competition. I drew a circle. It’s interesting considering that I could possibly have been exposed to any of the advertisement in the paper and drew my circle before I watched the program. 🙂

  42. Emily
    27 September 2009

Gah, I need to learn how to spell. I meant couldn’t, not could.

    27 September 2009

Loved the show – absoloutely amazing one of the best ! keep up the great work Derren!

Oh no we phoned all the numbers that came up in the advert! :s hope they all liked the messages! x

  44. Justine
    27 September 2009

Whats the number?! I cant catch it! xx

  45. just_jesss
    27 September 2009

the show was really good, (as usual :D)
i drew glasses though, they were circular, but there wasnt any concentric circles in there.
i guess im pretty rubbish at this.

i feel sorry for the person who has had all these people ringing him/her about derren.

i cant wait till the next episode, and whoever gets picked is very lucky indeed 🙂
derren is fantastic and good luck for friday,

    jess x

    27 September 2009

The phone number has now been fuzzed out on the Channel 4 trailer! Would love to be there when whoever has that number switches their phone on and gets bombarded by random voicemails!

  47. Roberto
    27 September 2009

Definitely her eyes giving it away – even using a ring flashlight to add another circle to her eyes – Enjoying the series!

  48. A Maclay
    27 September 2009

Has anyone found this advert in the metro (midlands edition)? Have gone through the whole thing and no luck.

  49. JayKay
    28 September 2009

    Nice new banner uptop.
Can’t believe you guys would leave some poor soul’s number on the ad for the casino if it weren’t to be used and abused by us on the site. We’ve rewound and decoded and poked around under things for weeks now – you can’t leave anything lying around anymore, you know.

  50. Predictable
    28 September 2009

Boring Derren! It’s just another variation of the same old prediction thing. It’s getting boring now and people are not so easily impressed (listen to office chat). Look into the curator’s eyes and you will see circles exagerated with lighting, not even subltle this time! Come on Derren give us something new.
