i loved this advert, especially the bicyclist, and Nigel the date could be in American as they put ‘month/date/year’ instead of the normal way of ‘date/month/year’. either that or Derren Brown is a Time Lord.
either way, that date is in the future….and the 10th of sept is when theyre filming the competition winners isnt it…
even if it was the american way the date still hasnt happened yet!!!!!!
on surescore website why is the a picture of a camera? how does this have any relevance? and why is the money in euros?
I think we are supposed to use the numbers given in the clip, to bet on the Euromillions draw. As you only choose five main numbers for that and then 2 star numbers – these will be the ‘random’ numbers we choose. That’s why the money on surescore is in Euros and why it says ‘place small amounts on a really long shot and watch the cash come rolling in’ because it’s only a pound or whatever to enter so thats the ‘small amount’, winning the lottery is a ‘long shot’ and the balls will be ‘rolling in’. This is what we are being directed towards I think, but whether it will actually happen is another matter.
when and how was the score predicting website found?
@Aaron – think it’s a reference to the image – filename: photo.jpg.
Incidentally, the last-modified date of that image was “Sat, 29 Aug 2009 16:03:58 GMT” – when did the match finish – was it actually a prediction? Also, 2-1 doesn’t indicate which side wins – bit of an ambiguous prediction, even if it was posted before the result came out.
@Mary – I can’t find any reference to it either… I’m suspecting it could be bogus – none of the official sites have had so many typos:
– misspell “litterally” twice,
– misspell “wembly” once,
– misplaced space in “you to ocould”,
– additional word: “we will be predicting the more results”,
– page title “erocserus” – other official sites’ title’s start: “Home Page: ”
These could be clues… or indications the site was put together in a rush!
I saw it a week or so before the game, I think. It wasn’t too hard to find if you watched closely but it spoils the fun if people give it away.
edit: Hmm, i might have to eat my words – the info on the snoitciderpserocsnerred.co.uk domain looks like it might be genuine – much of it matches this very domain (derrenbrownart.com)… perhaps the typos ARE clues after all.
Incidentally, the retsehcnamdetinu.com and stucktomysofa.com domains are registered by Channel4 – but this (and the snoitciderpserocsnerred.co.uk) domain is registered by “Derren Brown Art”.
Curiouser and curiouser…
@raginrob – mind sharing where you saw it? It’s out in the open now, so nothing to “give away”. The domain was only registered 28-Aug-2009 – are you sure you didn’t see the reversed Man U site (URL on the telly advert)?
Cheers,
Colin
@Colin the match started at 16:15 GMT (remembering we are currently an hour ahead) – so by that measure it counts as a prediction. Also, the home side score is always given first – so it seems it is a genuine prediction (incidentally, exactly the same score as I predicted for this match – so not *that* impressive perhaps)
Someone mentioned about why there is a camera on the score prediction site, and I maybe way off beam here, but there IS a woman in the pic with an almost exact camera to the icon. Plus (unless my eyes deceive me) there seems a few others taking pics too.
I don’t know what on earth that means, but it’s just an observation, and it probably means nothing…..

@MaGz ( a while back)
Desperately looking at the bus now – obv its not “It will be you” , because thats been posted. any more hints?
@Matt – so your telling me if I’d have put a grand on Manu to win with that score (I could have got odds about 4-1) I’d be 4 grand better off? Find me another one and I’ll split the winnings with you mate!
snoitciderpserocsnerred.co.uk… the predictions are made by Victor B Redner. hahahaha. yur brain dead if you dont get that one.
also if you look the card that says “1” definitely has the letters DB in the top corner.
@ed F I’m don’t think I’m allowed to post it because it gives quite a lot away on the site that I found, (phillis changed my post!! 😛 ) you’re halfway there but you could also try putting dot info at the end….. 😉
– for the record it’s fake and it’s on more than 5 places on this blog. – Phillis
@Chris Those were good odds – should have gone for it! I’ve been playing the Guardians “predict the score” game. This week from 10 games, I correctly predicted the score of 2 of them – the Man U game was one of them.
@LariyT – Just because it links to the same page doesn’t make it legitimate 🙂
But it could well be.
The Score Predictions site, however, looks as fake as fake can be….Whilst this could be intentional, I’m hoping it’s not, it looks awful and reads dreadfully.
hmmmm
sure score is part of the goose chase.
think rob may have got mixed up. where was the first mention of the sure score site on this blog? maybe admin etc dropping links in.
also you lot, could you update the sure site in plenty of time so we can get our bets on.
thanks x
I saw the site late around the night before, its linked to on another post… but the picture of the guy holding up the cards wasn’t there. It was just a grey square saying “photo coming”. I didn’t look till about 8-9pm after the match when it was there.
is there any way to find out if that photo was taken BEFORE the match and not after? it’s defo Trafford as I’ve been enough.
has the stuckonmysofa site gone down?
@MattB – ah cool, cheers for confirming that – I’m not a big football follower…
OK, so it’s a pretty decent prediction then… although the odds of guessing it aren’t impossible (did i see 1/4 above?), the egg-on-face factor for posting a prediction right before a national TV show starts would be massive, so Mr B would have to be pretty certain that he wouldn’t have to switch images and hope no-one noticed.
So… assuming he’s not manipulating the game… could be manipulating any other facts? Can anyone 100% vouch for seeing the 2-1 image before the match started? Could he have created images for every result?
Either way, I’m bookmarking that site and betting heavily if any more predictions come up!!!
@Colin. I’ve put a fair few bets on and 4-1 is not the odds of that score ocuring. It would be something like 20-1 so it depends on when you put it on and who you went to. 4-1 odds is pretty crap. I could have said it would be 2-1, 1-2 anyway with teams like that but last time they played it was nil-nil so yeah it isn’t really too obvious. The disallowed goal was potentially a swinger too as it could have easily been 2-2. Pity no details about who would score.
Very weird coincidence…
A pizza menu came through my door today, offering a ‘999 Deal’. Of course, 999 made me remember The Events, and then I also remembered the stucktomysofa.com pizza advert in this vid. You should have seen my reaction; “Oh my God, he’s EVERYWHERE!” Then I realised the menu was just a Pizza Hut one. Phew!
Bring on The Events!
@ChrisVL – Ah, i just picked the 4-1 from someone above, who mentioned that was the odds they could get on that score.
I’ve found a post on a magic forum talking about the prediction on the site at Sat Aug 29, 2009 9:05 pm – that’s the earliest record I can find via google… they do mention it has a prediction on it, but that could be the “nice little victory for Man U” prediction.
The only way to check the photo’s authenticity would be to have the original file from the camera, or visually recognise some aspect of it (people in the background?).
Here’s a thought… if you were going to predict a score, why have your photo taken at the match? Why not have it taken before the match? And is that a disguised Derren in the photo?
@chrisvl do you know which post, i cant find it?
the earliest mention i have found of it is:”
Paul Kayle says:
August 29, 2009 at 1:39 pm
yes and there’s victor B redner thats obvious but how can the score prediction site work? either the game is rigged or it’s going to have to be one very lucky guess. with all the different scores up to 5-5 your looking at a 50-1 chance. I think thats right not so good at math but it’s 5×5×2 isn’t it”
but no mention previously that i can see, unless team db have delyed it!? will keep searching curious as to how it was found.
Colin: OK, I’ll be honest and quit acting clever, I picked it up in the comments of another blog posting the backwards trailer. I actually suck at this stuff. I thought it was a joke or a fake at the time though, I wish I’d had the brains to bet on it. I was kicking myself when I saw the match score.
anyone know the actual numbers for the supposed draw?? ,theres so many variations dotted around the place.
Surely there has to be more than the three sites so far found i guess more looking is needed!!!!!
I did see the prediction before the match, although I’m not usually into football, but thought I’d take a look as my brother was going to watch and he loves Man U. Can’t remember the exact time that the prediction was up but it was probably between 4:30 and 5-ish I think.
I remember seeing the prediction site on the day of the match. My bf – he’s the Man U fan – came across it. And for the people here who are keen on details, I think it was around 5pm.
I found the score prediction site in the morning, and that photo was up when I checked about half an hour before kick-off. It’s definately taken at OT, and looks like pre-kick off (somewhere outside around the front of the megastore unless I’m mistaken) – you can see some of the match programme booths in the background, and the east coach park.
You can tell it’s pre-kick off as people are milling around taking photo’s. You wouldn’t get that many people stood around afterwards.
Paul B
I found the link on a forum, while searching for Events-related things.
Not really that interested in football, but ended up stuck in front of the TV for the match!
And WHY OH WHY did I not bet some money on the result???
@mary – which website/blog post is that on?
@cj is was on this blog, post titled THE EVENTS FULL TRAILER – WATCH HERE NOW!
ctrl + f + “prediction” will take you straight to it the comment. there is also one in this post at August 29, 2009 at 5:20 pm by james ray.
strange how there is no link that i can find previous to those times and people just seem to mention the prediction without actually referring to a link.
Cheers guys for the confirmation – looks like Derren has done it again, and totally foxed me… he would have to be certain that he’d be right if he was going to release a public prediction like this.
I wonder if that site will be updated, or if other predictions will be made on other (currently undiscovered) sites… I suspect the latter, just to keep us on our toes!!
news flash guys, i was watching channel 4, and the schedule came up but the text was in red and black. oh Derren you sly fox, will we ever escape your clutches. teehee 🙂
On 09/09/09 at 22.35 derren browns event is on tv live!!!! and then on the 11th it says he reveals how he could’ve pulled of wednesdays live stunt, as you can see on channel 4 tv listings. I bet Derren will be looking at these finding it very funny how were spending hours trying to work out his hidden messages!!!!
Soooo excited can’t wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
omfg omfg, christ i have discovered alot, this is went more far than i thought im getting somewhere, found the 5 correct numbers, 22 is not 22 its something else, and wee hint all im telling you is “Ludwig” its something to do with that alot, yay im smart and i am the only one thats discovered this thing thats tooken this to the next level, i cant beileve i found this information, dont know if the meant to share this but i dug deep enough to find to find this information its hidden really well and its the last place you would look
feel free to share what you have found jordan. what do you think the next level is?
Deep breath Jordan! 😀 Blimey your excited. Must be something good. Care to share with the group??? 😉
(and by that I mean your theory AND your winnings.) x

Oh and this means nowt most likely but has anyone else noticed that the background to the stuck to my sofa website is lots of rows of teeny Derren heads? Cute 🙂
x
@jordan – are you 100% sure it’s legit? Seems quite an obsure way to hide something, if only real geeks would find it… and don’t assume everyone shouts about everything they find 😉
Oh do tell Jordan! Phillis said some time ago that we should all keep talking and sharing… plus my brain hurts from trying to find new things 😀
@Colin – Is there something you’re not telling us?!
Yes, Jordan, please share your ideas. There’s lots of people’s ideas on here and it’s nice for those of us who don’t maybe have as much time to hunt around for stuff to be able to see what people have found out. Is there another website we need to find? Or maybe we need to look a little closer at one of the ones already listed on here. Come on give us a few hints at least, pleeease! Can’t contain my excitement till the show starts, must know more now!! 🙂
First Time Commenter – Had seen the add again last night and looked up the stucktoyoursofa.com site and boy was i stuck to the sofa, after reading blogs, forums, videos and all the prior mentioned sites I found myself still on the sofa totally engrossed at 06:30 this morning. If its just and advert its certainly done its job, however I would agree with the general opinion whether it be clues to what Derren has planned for the show, a mix up of previous shows or maybe to make us look deeper and hes hinting at something. It all reminds me of a competition on a social networking site that you could win a pair of trainers earlier this year in which clues were given and entrants had to work out the answer and enter it in the sites address bar then find and click something on the found page ……

@Colin – Is there something you’re not telling us?!
just to recap: there are four events (to win, to trick, to control and to fool if I remember right – can’t remember where I saw that) and – by the looks of it – four websites:
http://www.forward-splash.com/
http://www.retsehcnamdetinu.com/
http://www.stucktomysofa.com/
http://snoitciderpserocsnerred.co.uk/
Assuming they are all legitimate sites, I wonder if they can be assigned to the various events? My guess would be:
http://www.forward-splash.com/ – to fool
http://www.retsehcnamdetinu.com/ – to trick
http://www.stucktomysofa.com/ – to control
http://snoitciderpserocsnerred.co.uk/ – to win
Yes, Jordan, please share your ideas.
