Im sure it will be nothing short of extrordinary…as usual! ………..I’d like to see some more interacting between yourself and viewers, anything we can participate in would be great (like sticking to our sofa’s!). Im sure you will have us stuck to our seats anyway as once i start watching any of your shows its hard to stop!!

When this advert first aired, I looked up while it was on and thought to myself “Ugh, what the hell…..?” and then something seemed to click in my mind and I soon realised that a certain Mr Brown was behind it…..then lo and behold, up you popped! lol
Great advert, which if anything, gets increasingly more disturbing and makes the whole thing it’s advertising more damnable intriguing with every watch.

Do we have a free will? Not convinced at all. According to religion and our state laws we have. Believing in free will implies having “something” a soul for instance that is independant from our natural chemical reactions. What a wonderful furry tail :)! Guess we will have an element of response with this next wondeful show ! Thanks Derren and your team for constantly kicking in the ant-hill !
dunno, it feels like a weird ad, it’s got a kind of “don’t drink drive” feel to it, i am afraid.
i am missing some pulling points?
the voiceover fragments the message, which dones not help imo – uness it’s some intentional NLP
the music does not emphasize anything.
very smooth static… but tries to be dynamic … at least should have had more close-ups…?
looks like a weird music video.

radam: The ventriloquist doll mouths (emphasised by the voice-over, the ‘ventriloquist’s voice’ ) are a metaphor for the fact that people are not always in control of themselves. Seems perfect for the show. Derren does not use NLP, and I doubt whether he even wrote the script for the ad — that’s usually not done by the creators of a show, but I don’t know how C4 handles those things, so it might be his work. Either way, no NLP.

Berber, no NLP? This is Derren, I highly doubt he hasn’t thought this ad through a hundred times to make sure it’s exactly how he wants it to come across and maybe there a subtle clues in there too that not everyone can see.

Mark: No NLP. Derren has repeatedly stated that he doesn’t use NLP. In his book Tricks of the Mind, he basically says that while some of the techniques are useful to some extent, the whole NLP framework is way too dogmatic.
Subtle clues are fun and I’m sure C4 has put some in (they’re good at trailers, as we’ve seen with The Events), but they really have very little to do with NLP. I don’t know why everyone keeps attaching that label to Derren’s work, when what he does is basically a mixture of mentalism and experimental psychology.
