Derren Goes Cruising
Just returned from a wonderful few days aboard P&O’s Aurora, along with Mr Coops and Iain. I’m guessing many of you won’t have ever booked a cruise, or imagine it might be something to do in retirement, but I urge you to reconsider. The atmosphere is immediately, staggeringly friendly, and waking up every morning in a different port is just wonderful. Plus, if you like a bit of solitude, there’s nothing like sitting on your balcony with a great book, overlooking the vast expanse of endless ocean. Just bliss – and that’s without even leaving the ship. I did 3 shows in a beautifully equipped theatre, an interview/Q&A which was much much fun. And met some really lovely passengers, most of them seasoned cruisers.
A big hello, ahoy, and thank you to anyone reading this who was aboard – it was a real pleasure. We’ll be aiming to do it again, and bringing Jennie next time. So if you catch her in the Masquerades discotheque, perhaps you can persuade her to do that dance.

Was lovely meeting you Derren, we were first-time cruisers too and were utterly enthralled by the experience.
We had only booked to see you & now we’re talking about booking another…. oh dear – very addictive!
Well, it sounds like you had a lovely, lovely time. I’m not jealous…..much! lol
I have a friend at work who’s always going on cruises, has one every year. Me? The closest I’ve ever come to anything like a cruise is going on a ferry to the Isles of Wight & Mull! 🙁
But am very glad you’re back safe & sound on dry land Derren, and thankyou for sharing the lovely photos. 🙂

How lucky to meet Derren Brown on a cruise? Been wanting to do one for ages, but like you say – assumed it was for oldies and/or swingers!
Any photos of you in a sailors uniform? Would be rather fun!!
Glad you enjoyed it Derren. I worked on one of those things for years, so I’m in no hurry to go out as a passenger! Always wondered what it was like with a balcony, for me a porthole seemed like an unbelievable luxury!
Was an excellent mini-holiday, Bruges was great, weather was fabulous and your show and talk were both massively entertaining. Thank you for taking so much time signing books and probably rushing your lunch, it was much appreciated.

I must admit thought being miles from land scares me a little.
Thought about a cruise but then remembered that I got travel sick on the Isle of Wight ferry……bad times:)

Aww, glad you had fun…. I did consider booking it, but was put off by a certain person on here saying that it wasnt really a “Derren Brown Cruise” and that he’d only be performing one part of Enigma and that was it.
Clearly I’m now gutted. :o(

I was on the cruise, it was awesome. Derren Brown is a lovely guy, he made me all giggly (I was so nervous when I met him.) The show was great and the Q&A was really amusing. I can’t wait to see one of his shows live again.

OMG we loved the cruise too!!!! we also just booked to see you and we absolutely loved it we’ve now emailed some cruise people to book one for next year yay!!! altho probably won’t be so good without you there 🙁 lol Im so there when you do another one!!!! hope you will announce it on here, It was AMAZING to meet you!!! we were the ones who got you to do your Stewie impression so honoured to have heard it just for us!!! lol 😀 and will definately be looking out for that stewie Elixor stuff lol gonna watch your show from last night later made sure I sky plussed it while we were away! O and also gutted we never got to have our pic taken with Mr Coops 🙁 O well next time maybe! 😉

Does sound like fun, almost makes me want to go on a cruise… but I’d spend the whole time in a barely concealed state of panic due to an absolute hatred of all large bodies of water, so maybe not!

So jealous! I love sailing and have done a cruise in Egypt (in between visiting the pyramids and whatnot) so would have loved this but I didn’t know about it. Glad that everyone enjoyed themselves (from the comments it appears that all involved had a blast) and I will definitely be on the next one. Quick question though – can I download the Derren emoticons for my msn? They’re ACE 🙂

I thought those were more for elderly people … ehehe…. I myself def. would not want to be on a cruise for more than say 2 days. I’d get bored, I’m not really into the ocean day after day (unless they only cruise by night). Anyhow .. I’m sure the people had a great time.
Hey, I was also on the cruise, have cruised a couple of times before but booked this purely to come see the show, in fact, ended up seeing it 3 times. I was fortunate to catch the frisbee and Derren ‘read my mind’ and came up with the 3 number I was thinking of completely spot on. Brilliant show, thanks also for taking the time to sign the book and have your picture taken with me. Loved the interview too and can’t wait to go to a pet shop next to try out the parrot thing lol. Also got to meet Coops and Iain at breakfast one morning – lovely chaps, stayed chatting for ages with us too. Look forward to your next ‘gig’ on a cruise ship Derren, love ya lots xxx

Just got back after the cruise and had a great time it was also great to meet Derren in the Karaoke bar and had our photo taken with him. Loved the show.

so cool. I have just come back from cruising with p&o on the oriana which was great! Wish there was more publicity about the cruise derren was on, would have persuaded ppl to book that one instead! Loving the new series Derren and keep it up!

Please go on the Oriana next year. We’re on it from 30th July and want to see you! (We’ve been on Aurora and Oriana over the years, Oriana being our fave dahhhhling!). If you go, you’re welcome to come to our suite for a drink (GOD, don’t you hate a bloody show off, tedious in the extreme…)…as long as you do a card trick, otherwise forget it 😉 If you don’t come to our suite we’ll come to yours and we can play ‘snap’ instead, or ‘Old Maid’, of which I am champion. Thank you for listening….or were you? Watch out for the nightclubs on ships, our horrible teenagers are in there.

ps we are seasoned cruisers and still only in our 40s, if people go in the school holidays you get much younger passengers.
