   Although you missed the roulette number by one last night (pity btw), surely with that kind of accuracy you’d still manage to get it right a fair few times if you played more often. Given the odds, if you can get it right more than one in 35 times you’d be making a profit. If I were you I’d be doing exactly that! 😉
9. I did wonder about the validity of being just one number out, but it would be good to remember what he said about the lottery prediction. If ever anyone was to ask him how he did it, he would say it was just a TRICK.
   It should be noted that he is an illusionist of the mind and the skill is in making people believe what he wants them to. Through all of this comes ENTERTAINMENT. Ultimately, believe what you choose, but overall ENJOY.
10. Well done Derren. I have thoroughly enjoyed The Events and I felt so bad that the last one didn’t go as planned. I actually wanted to cry haha =S But one out is simply amazing plus all the other stunts you did in the show were incredible. Im really looking forward to seeing you back on our screens soon and hopefully i’ll be seeing you live next year! 😀 sooo excited. If i get picked to come on stage i’ll be too nervous and probably collapse or something haha.
    I just read a few comments on here about how this could have all been on purpose. If that’s the case, you’re more devious than I thought 😉 lol

Guys the thing you’re forgetting about this whole “30” conspiracy is that no matter where we apparently see/hear the number 30 in the show, there was no way for Derren to know that the number 30 would come up on the roulette wheel. Regardless of whether it was going to be the number the ball landed on or not.

    I’m glad to see there are more people who love you here than fair weather fans who just wanted to kick you when you’re down 🙂
    One out is nothing to be ashamed of, but that is the most sheepish I’ve ever seen you… “I’m going to take £5000 off someone watching tonight without them knowing and…erm… piss it up the wall on a roulette table… oh… ahem… this is awkward… Ben, I’ll send you a cheque…”
    I watched that bit through my fingers! I wanted to give you a big hug. On the plus side it segued nicely into “Peep Show” afterwards, which always climaxes on painful humiliation 😉

    Firstly, congratulations on your great work.

    The fact that last night’s show went ever so slightly wrong, I feel, gives it far more credibility, as a skill and not so much ‘trickery’. And the fact that you don’t have anyone who can ‘copycat’ you shows just how good you, and your vast knowledge of these skills, truly is.

    Congratulations, and I would certainly trust you with my money, any day of the week, I can’t even win a £10 on the lotto!

    vstrange show yesterday not really sure what your trying to achieve with these shows but I suspect your just having a bit of fun and trying to get people talking in any way!

    My favorite part was when you went to the squash court to pridict the fall of the ball, and first time it landed in 37 after the most ridiculous series of bounces ever and you were like “…….so it seems to work!” Hillarious! what seems to work! you never even claimed to be able to do it, u just so happened to posess that skill eh 😉 funny stuff

    yeah end was clearly on purpose was funny although like i said I dont know what your doing with this series giving supernatural explanations for the lottery etc and that ridiculous story about tapping your feet in time with the wheel! only gona confuse ppl
19. fantastic show only one out, not sure if the 30 on the truck was anything which funnily enough my 13 year old noticed but he is getting good at noticing things on your shows. (got mild autism so he has this incredible mathematical brain and a tendency to write lists!) anyway BIG WOW for last night and the last few weeks friday will be very boring now so looking forward to November.
20. Even though it didn’t go as planned it was still a very entertaining show. I have to say that Ben’s face at the end was absolutely priceless!

21. Thank you for some of the best telly my family have ever enjoyed together, Derren. My ten-year-old boy was stuck for ages, and he and I did concentric circles and spirals. Altogether a fascinating four weeks’ viewing. Look forward to following your further exploits.

23. @Feargal, he’s coming to Belfast in April for 3 shows, make the trip down, it’s not that far and I’m sure will be worth it! I’m really looking forward to seeing the show in Belfast. As for last night I’m now convinced it was all planned and he deliberately got it wrong. Makes it far more interesting, and anyway, if you can lift £5k from your bank on Monday and still not notice it missing up til Friday, well I’m sure Ben wasn’t in desperate need for the money!

    The shows were great, your hard work is well worth it and you have certainly opened my eyes to a lot of ‘myths’ concerning my own behaviour and superstitions. I needed someone who could communicate as clearly and passionately as you do in order to understand all this logic malarkey… Your book is fantastic and very funny, I suggest to everyone to go out and buy it!! 😉

    I think you should become a teacher with all your charisma and illuminating knowledge, or you could certainly write as a journalist, I’m pretty sure in fact you would be good at most things you applied yourself to…or at least you’d make the employer believe you are the best….!

25. Loved all the ‘Events’ shows, you did an ace job. As for the casino, one off is still pretty damn good going and as they say you can’t win them all. I’d still happily let you gamble my savings anyday ha ha ha.

    Not looking forward to you being on tv in the next 2 months though…not in a bad way but because i can’t see in 3D so i won’t be able to watch and experience it…i’ll just have to sit in my hermit abode and cry ha ha.

Why are people congratulating derren on a great success, the events have drastically lowered my expectation and amazemanet of DB – The little side projects he did during the shows eclipsed the actual ‘events’ every time. The lotto predo was just a bridge too far and I am still yet to meet anyone who was stuck…

    He is and always will be a superb showman but this time the show just let him down.

33. Why are all you people saying “well done, one off isn’t bad etc etc?”. It doesn’t take a genius to work out that he missed on purpose.

    And no, I’m not saying he aimed for number 30. It was a rigged table in a fake casino.

    Let’s look at the facts:

    – There is absolutely no reason why Derren would need to conceal the identity of the casino. Any casino in the land would be willing to take this bet for the publicity alone.

    – Camera technology these days is fantastic. The little camera up Derren’s sleeve was purposely fuzzy, probably to hide the fact it wasn’t a real casino.

    – You cannot put people in ‘trances’ like that. LMFAO.

    – Derren’s tapping technique could not account for the raised metal spikes around the wheel that the ball will RANDOMLY bounce off.
34. Derren your amazing, and im sure you dont need all of us to tell you that. I dont think for a second that you meant to fail, and even if you actually failed then youve still succeeded in confusing everyone as much as if youd won all the money. Anyone that says you scam people etc are idiots when you clearly explain its misdirection, showmanship etc etc and personally all the people that say your a con-artist just piss me right off. I have loved all the events and am just so sad that we only had you for 4weeks when we have to have big brother for 13weeks … you should be there every friday :D. 38. Hey, i love the shows. Just one thing, if you watch where Ben is passing the trucks, you can blatently see the number 30 on the side of the first truck, and then a red line on the back. Coincidently a red 30 comes up on the roulette table, indicating you knew the right number all along (as this was live).

    However it is things like this that make me love the show so much, it is all so carefully planned. You do admit you use deception and i think the purpose of the show is to get people talking about how you could have done it, and youve definately done that. Congrats on a highly entertaining few shows.
39. and to will, people are entitled to their own opinions, not that any of yours seem to be too well thought through. The show is meant to entertain, and it definately did that, even to you seeing as you took the time to write about it. And people can hypnotise people like that, and unless you think every one of derrens shows are set up, then i think he can.
40. I LOVED the Events series, and I can’t wait to go to Bristol in March to see the Enigma show!! Last nights show was briliant, and the fact that you were only one off on the roulette table, firstly shows how brilliant you are and secondly that you’re not a fake! Loved it! xx

    its quite funny to read some of the theorys on facebook – like you delibratly failed even though you knew the right one to avoid being kicked out of the casino… not sure about that!! but one that could be true is you made ‘mistakes throughout the whole eveing (eg 20 ‘oh sorry i made a mistake there…and then he got it and then the dot on the card with 37 ‘its kinda on the wrong square there but i did mean 39’ i dunno whatever it was well done anyway
