How To Paint Derren Brown
More than a few of you were surprised to learn, on closer inspection, that this image for the new show ‘The Great Art Robbery’ was not a painting on a canvas – but in fact a painting on Derren’s face.
So we thought you may be interested to take a peek into the process that brought this particular work of art to life with some behind the scenes snaps and a little video. Enjoy!
It reminds me of the art from grand theft auto, goes well with the robbery theme! I wonder if that was the intention… either way it’s fascinating to see how these things come together!

OH JOY!! I almost thought,all is deserted here. Nobody lives here anymore…I SO used to enjoy the entries here,then sadly all became still. And now it seems that maybe there will be reports again and stories hard to find anywhere else…I must admit,I am a stranger to face book,twitter and such(where propably most things happen)Goodness! U have just started on telly Derren,so excuse all.

It’s brilliant!! Even now, knowing its not a painting, i still can’t convince my self completely that it is not a painting. It’s just one more thing In a long list of things Derren has done to mess with my poor brain. Oh , and merry Christmas

Hi. Just wanted to ask who this amazing make up artist is? I am a face painter but never seen anything like this before. If only you could disguise the eyes…thats what gives it away. Brilliant!
Hi, I went to go see one of your shows at Bradford alambra and it was an amazing show I wanted to tell people about it (without spoiling it) so that they’d get tickets to see you and every time I go to tell someone a story about it my mind goes blank and I can’t remember but I remember Derren saying not to tell anyone and on the website it says the least talked about show of the year and also a picture of him with his finger on his lips I was just wondering if its coincidence or has Derren hypnotised us all as me and my boyfriend can’t remember a thing about it all I remember is that it was brilliant! Would be very grateful for a reply 🙂 thanks x
