Yes. I’ve got two lots already. I’m a glutton for punishment.
Got mine!
An Australian tour at some point would be mouth watering.
C’mon Derren- Come to the States and do a tour! Besides, it’s almost Kentucky Derby time and I need you to tell me what horse to bet on 🙂
Fortunately, got one already… 25 june
Sorry Luke, I expect Derren has his sights set on the states. If he can crack the states then thats when he’ll really be dirty, filthy, rich! So rich, he can afford to wipe arse with $100 bills.
He can already afford to wipe his arse with $100 Canadian bills, have you seen how much our monoploy money is worth in comparison with Pounds Sterling?
I sense a holiday in Canada coming on!
Already got mine!
got really good seats, considering selling them on ebay and using the funds to buy a small country and of course another two pairs of tickets. Have you guys seen how much the best seats are going for?
Hmmm must resist temptation!
You’d love it here, Flapjack. It’s a magical land where pants-eating mud makes front page news, when you hit an animal your car gets wrecked and the animal walks away, and the money is pink and has pictures of weird statues in canoes.
I have heard that the pubs brew their own beer and the streets are full of Meese.
ooh, I spy on ebay tickets for Ă‚ÂŁ250!
When Nureyev absconded from the USSR he said he was going to charge as much as possible for each ballet, because in the capitalist West people rated a performer by how much they would pay to see them. Cold and businesslike Mister Nureyev! It’s good logic, as long as you only care about that part of the audience who can afford to compete for seats financially (like ebay. I am in awe.).
I would pay to see Derren perform in the USA. cultural differences could make who sections of his act “fail”. it would be very intrested to see for example how easy the “russian mugging” type scam would go down.
Anyone else got views?
Cheers
Rob
Already have mine, yayness 🙂
Can’t wait!!
SGC- “Pants eating mud” !?! So many questions, can one front page do them all justice?
Whose pants? What were they doing in the mud? Was it actually alive mud or merely very acidic? Is this some weird Canadian fetish I wasn’t previously aware of? Or is it actually the pants that are eating the mud?
If this is genuine, post us the link… I’m very intrigued!
Click my name, Flapjack. Canada is dangerous. We don’t have Derren Brown, though. Could I interest you guys in a trade for some pants-eating mud and maybe a brace of meese? We’d throw in some beer.
20th june WOOT WOOT
xx
SGC- That’s not pants eating mud! Those firefighters fell for the most shameless chat up in the book…
“Oh please, someone call me some hunky rescue workers, I’m sinking in mud! Oh… what do you know, the ‘mud’ removed my pants, this is SOOO awkward, can I borrow yours? Are you single?” etc. etc.
I’ve seen it a thousand times… well not “seen it” as such, I meant to say… erm… yeah…
Canada’s such a great place isn’t it?
Rob, I think Derren is a charming performer. However to make the transition to the states will take some work. I’m not sure how the bible belt will take to his views on religion. He may need to “water down” some aspects.
I think he also runs the risk of falling into the category of “weird, British, goth, eccentric magician.” I think he will have to carefully market himself in order to get mass appeal. Rather than just catering for people that are into sci-fi and magic. However his “Britishness” can also work for him. I can’t think of any really famous British illusionists in the U.S that I know of.
One other obstacle I think may hinder him, is that the American people will instantly think he’s a fake, and that he uses stooges and scams etc etc.
Other than that, I think the U.S can be his oyster.
Someone will be very happy now that I did not buy one … now he/she gets to go as well … ehehehe ….
I WILL go one day … beware …
oh oh, weirdy eye is back
Flapjack, why did that even jump into your mind? Of all the things that went through my head when I read that story, that did not occur to me even once. Should I be ashamed of myself, or ashamed of you?
I do not kow about the US, but people in NS, Canada love anyone who is vaguely British. On the other hand, the population is pretty small. I have helped out with the marketing effort by making my workmates fear the name “Derren Brown” thanks to helpful clips on YouTube.
No seriously, one of them practically has a phobia now, thanks to that zombie thing. I told her there was a disclaimer somewhere, but she didn’t care.
I really want to go.. but i live like in another country and im poor so its pretty much impossibe right now. But oh well couldnt get out of school for that anyways.
SGC- I’m ashamed of myself, so don’t worry about it! I just thought it sounded a million times more likely than “pants eating mud”.
I already have friends in Canada and it does sound like a cool place. I’ve never met a Canadian I didn’t like… they tend to come over here to animate stuff.
Derrenphobia is totally rational though… it’s that nightmare sensation that your standing in the middle of a level crossing after the lights have changed and you can’t move your feet. Other symptoms include narcolepsy whenever you answer a ringing payphone!
looking forward to the show on the 16th of june!
No Irish dates…Yet!!!
Anyone want to swap tickets for the 8th of july. Can’t make it that night but would like to swap 2 tickets for another night, preferably the weekend!
