1. I had a very strange experience and would like to know if anyone else had the same.

   You said to put you phone within reach but my hands were sealed to my lap.

   Most quizzically however I found that my chest really tightened up during the video and I could only take short breaths. The experience wasn’t uncomfortable, rather it sent me into giggles. Did anyone else experience a tightening of the chest?

3. I got stuck to my chair, very freaky my bottom felt like lead really really heavy.I was stuck for about 5 minutes.I don’t know how you did it but you are amazing and also a little freaky! 🙂

5. We watched it live and recorded it and watched it again. Nothing happened to me but my husband got stuck both times; second time was stronger and lasted longer. Very weird!
6. Yeah, the image of the man in the chair shown twice, once before the ad’s and before they shown the video.

   It was a weird feeling in my leg and arms like I was weighted down when I was watching the video. Freaked me out!

7. Not stuck at all (neither was my girlfriend).
   I saw brief flashes of “man in chair”, she didn’t.
   Was prepared to be “manipulated” (lord knows it happens every supermarket visit…..) but it didn’t happen.
8. Nope! SO disappointing… 🙁 i was really willing myself to get stuck as well! But then i could just stand up, didn’t even feel heavy or anything!
9. God it was so strange!
   The film played then when Derren started talking again, everything in the room went kinda red and yellow and it just felt like something clicked and it felt like my bum was locked to the sofa for about 30 seconds!
   The same happened to my friend who was sat next to me, but my other friend who was sat at the other side of the room just got a headache! I think she was abit gutted because she didn’t get stuck! Haha x
10. Probably one of the most bizarre feelings I have experienced. I have done this 3 times now each time working very well,

    1st time: My legs where literally stuck to the chair, I was unable to stand or even slide over to the other side of the sofa

    2nd time: worked much, much better than the first time with my back also being welded to the back of the seat. On this occasion I was physically unable to move anything but my head and arms.

    3rd time: probably the weakest of the 3 attempts sticking just my legs but not for a very long period of time… possibly because I had just woken up.

    The sensation of it is almost like the seat is attached to your legs and/or back… I have recorded what happend to myself which I will be posting on YouTube…

    Wasnt stuck the seat, but my hands was stuck to my lap…
    I could just somehow manage to get my balance to stand up, but it wasnt until about 30 secs later i could get my hands off my lap….

12. I know why alot of people wernt stuck. You had to try it severel times.
    I rewinded the programme lots, and each time I got more stuck to the chair.

    I watched it on channel 4 and channel 4+1, but neither worked. My feet felt really heavy tho as I was watching it near the end though….
    So me, my sister and my dad could all get up fine, but my mum was a different story. It was so funny, she said that her bum was stuck, and it was!!!! She was really trying to get up, but no such luck. So funny. It only lasted about a minute on her though. She said she felt as if there was a bowl bit where her bum was, and like it was sucking her into it. I really wish it had worked on me. But maybe i’m just not open enough….
14. Oh yeah, and after both times i felt really really really really sick….Don’t know if that was an affect that was meant to happen?!
15. Not only did I get stuck but I started laughing manically. Really freaked my wife out, she wanted me to stop but I couldn’t. When the unstick instructions came on I could move and stopped laughing all at once. Just tried at again on recorded copy. Got stuck again but no manic laughter this time.
16. I got stuck at first, whenever I tried to sit up it was like my body was telling me it couldn’t. Weird stuff!
    It was all a matter of convincing myself I could stand up and forcing myself to move.

    People who are complaining, be happy, this just shows you aren’t receptive to this sort of thing and are not going to be part of Derren Brown’s unwitting army when he decides to take over the world. Sadly my fate is less assured…
17. I chickened out b4 hand and my boyfriend sat and watched this as he cudnt wait and i cudnt watch as was nervous! I snuck upstairs and looked thru my parents crack on door and saw it was blurry lines? I then went down n heard my mum ask my boyfriend if it worked and it had. He was stuck for near on 5 mins and cudnt move. I even tried to pull him and he cudnt move until near the end of it. I tried it a 3rd time as i sky plused it and yes it worked on me 2 but not as good as on him and he got stuck twice lmao. I was intending to make it work but i didnt realli catch the signals or the images as well as him so the images didnt affect me but i concernatred very hard on doing this and it worked. I was very heavy on my body and i cudnt budge as if the energry in my body had gone for a whil
18. Yeah ermm, well i got stuck for about 10 seconds i couldn’t move my legs then i could but my brother couldn’t move his arms for a while either, spooky 😛
19. Last night’s episode was great. I felt really heavy + took longer than usual to stand up. It was my bottom half that was the heaviest/stuck. Me + 3 of my friends got together to watch it (on a movie projector, might I add :P) and out of 4 of us, one of us got stuck. She said it felt like if she got up, it would really hurt her legs. She was stuck for the whole time up until the clearing tone. We tried to phone in but obviously the lines were busy.

21. I watched the recorded programme on my own as i was working, worked so well i was really trying my hardest and the phone rang while i was stuck and couldn’t get up to answer it. After the video finished i was freaking out in the gap between it ending and the explaining how to get out of it. W

23. i felt really light headed and i couldent blink, kinda hurt a bit 😛

    i couldnt move my neck and my legs and lower back were really heavy and slack LOL

24. no, it didn’t work for me unfortuneatly! And I so wanted it to! I don’t blame Derren though, I think it was just the seat I was in wasn’t the best for it. I’ve looked for it on 4od (on the TV not computer) but it isn’t there. 🙁

    I DO think I should say this though.. about 15 minutes after the program was finished I felt very strange and panicked. I was breathing heavily and then sort of slipped in and out of conciensness. Then the breathing thing started again.

    Again, not blaming Derren. I just think that although the video didn’t work in the intended way for me, it did tap into my subconciense. So well done. 😀

25. it half worked on me, i could not move my legs and cud only half stand, then about 20 mins later i was thinking about it and i got stck again, i was thinking how you said the more you try to unstick yourself the more you stick, it worked twice on me!.

    no it didnt work on me, nor was i put into a trance when i saw a stage show. Maybe my sceptical mind is telling me that this only works if you can be duped into believing “it” will work. Funnily enough the placebo effect works on me brilliantly (even when i know that it was a placebo! so thats truely mind over matter).
    enjoyed the ride anyway and will be watching the next trick avidly, so congrats on a really entertaining set of shows!

27. Unbelievable. We all watched on sky HD in France last night .1 out of 5 were stuck. However i played it back on sky plus this morning and I was stuck for about 15mins. I broke out in a sweat and felt disoriented after. I got the giggles first time and it didnt work but this time it did. Freaky

32. It didn’t work on me buuuuut I think whether it managed to work on everyone or anyone isn’t the issue.. he set out to ‘control the nation’ and he did just that by making everyone sit there and try it!
33. I wasn’t stuck to the chair but my elbows became really heavy and went dead for a good three or four minutes.
34. i could stand up but it took a while and my arms were stupidly heavy and a friend of mine in the room said as he tried to stand up he had the sensation that someone was pushing him against the chair…two of my friends who were also in the room didn’t get affected at all so it was quite interesting…i didn’t stay stuck for too long but i put this down to possible distractions in the room 😀
35. Im disappointed, their was 4 of us in the house and it didn’t work on anyone. However, I believe that this trick works by people stating it worked on them when it didn’t, just to be different or for the fame. the subliminal message of the man tied to the chair was obviously meant for the audience to be seen, i’m pretty sure subliminal messages clearly have a shorter time span than them, it’s almost as though its their to make you think it’s their to work. However thats just my opinion and everyones entitled to their own. I like Derren Brown, he has charisma and I will continue to watch his shows, lets just hope next weeks alot better.
36. Derren…..What can I say….So wanted it to work but unfotunately it didn’t….truly gutted. I will watch it again (I recorded it) without family distractions and see if it works.

    I wasnt stuck to my chair though……..i could raise myself about 5 inches off of it but no further
    I tried as hard as could until my face went bright red and my eyes watered and i broke free……
    But then my legs were stuck to the floor in a bent position while standing….only for a minute though

40. It worked on me. It was the strangest thing that has ever happened.
    I got emotional during the tape, I felt like I wanted to cry,im not sure why. My heart was racing and I got really hot. I literally got stuck for 7 mins, I got quite frightened at one point. I had a pins and needles type feeling all down my legs and in my feet, it was if they were magnetic and they just kept pulling towards the ground. It was amazing. Thanks Derren.

44. It took me 10 seconds to move my arms, but it took me about 40 seconds to actually move my legs.
    It was when Derren was talking really fast after the video that got me, i reckon.
    It was so weird, its like i couldnt feel my legs at all.

46. To Clarke O’Gara – Yes, it felt as though I was about to have a heart attack. It was an unpleasant anxious feeling accompanied by hysterical laughter, but perhaps that has more to do with anticipation than the effects of the video? Like, you’re expecting something to happen so you get these other bizarre sensations.
47. I didn’t stick (though I did feel a little heavy getting up), but my 12 year old sister did for about three minutes. She said that she was fine for the majority of the video, but about two seconds before the end she suddenly felt really really heavy, as if she didn’t have the strength to pull herself up (and she’s very little XD) She could only slightly move her arms and her legs just wouldn’t move.

    Very freaky stuff.

48. I have been reading up about subliminal messages, PWA and hypnosis before this show, also I am a TV, Film and theatre student at Reading University, so with this in mind, I thought I would have less chance on this working on me because of this.

    However I was open minded to the possibiltiy of being stuck to my sofa. I think this would have worked on the people who thought it might be possible rather than the ones over concentating for this to work, or the cynics that flat out deny that this can happen.

    Also I recorded this and watched it far later than Ch4 and Ch4+1, so thought that the odds were stacked up against me!

    No!!!!! I was stuck to the sofa, damn you Derren! Seriously though great show…will be watching next week

50. yes i was stuck, it was weird!! when the video started my heart started racing and i felt quite dizzy then when i tried to get up i couldnt, the harder i tried to move the more it felt like someone was pushing me down into my sofa, i was stuck for about 10 minutes… good job i didnt need the toilet =P
