6. I didn’t get stuck, but my legs felt rather heavy afterwards.
   During it I was laughing uncontrollably though?
7. was really strange. Felt like one of those suction rides at the fair. When i tried to get up felt like the cushion of the sofa was lifting up with my leg. To begin with it felt like i was the sofa. Very strange. The lady in the win loose thing at the beginning nicky aka nicola is my daughters speech therapist. Small world or what! 😀
8. I was totally stuck to my sofa for the duration of the phone in.

   Not my back, but my bum and my legs were welded there. I wasn’t panicy, just found the whole thing hilarious, and wished I hadn’t been home alone so someone could have laughed at it with me! Just so odd! Thanks!

   Wonder if it works if you recorded it on V+/SKY+? I will test it on my other half later when he gets home!
9. No, not stuck.

   Then again, I saw the images flashed through the programme – Eddie, afaik, it was someone bound to a chair.

   Oh, I also saw the giraffe miming thing, although didn’t really get what it was (just noted it as odd).

   Guess I’ve mastered the art of Awareness Without Perception.
10. Oooh very weird – wasn;t 100% stuck like the people in the studio, but felt SO heavy, like when you’ve been in the bath for quite a while and you want to get out. Legs felt very weak, bum was hot and felt 5 times heavier than normal (and it’s pretty heavy to begin with!).

    I’m quite a logical guy, and without thinking rationalised to myself that of course I can stand, and that made it much easier… legs got strength back and (with a bit of help from my arms) I stood up. As I left the sofa, it got much easier.

    Didn’t feel like anything else was stuck though… arms were fine. Didn’t really feel “glued”… but was rather odd. It really was like I was getting out of the bath!!

    Anyone else have the “getting out of the bath” feeling?
11. My legs were totally stuck and felt really heavy, but after a minute or so my arms came back to normal.
    I was with two mates, one was totally stuck and the other was prancing around and laughing at us 🙂
12. Worked on me. My legs just wouldn’t move. I had pins and needles in my feet and it wore off during the credits. Was so strange. LOVED IT!! X]
13. I am amazed, i am a doubting thomas put i really was stick to my chair, i couldnt move from the head down, everytime i tried to move i got a heavier sensation, i just kept laughing as couldnt believe it had worked, the man is a genius.

19. I was stuck! I really was. I definitely made the decision to let it work, but didn’t think it would, if you get my drift. I think I was only stuck because I wanted to be, but the feeling was still real. limbs still feel really heavy and feel ultra relaxed, it’s a great feeling, actually.
    more wine required now…

21. Didn’t really work on anyone in my house. I felt compelled to giggle partway through though, which probably distracted the rest of the family.

    Felt a little ‘reluctant’ to move after the video was done, but that was about it. Disappointed…
22. It didn’t stick me, but I didn’t feel like trying until the calls started coming in. I’m going to try it again on +1, but I doubt it’ll work now because I know what to expect?

    I saw the flashed up images. And my heartbeat went quite fast and didn’t slow down until a minute or two ago, which was weird. :-/

25. Yep worked on me – really weird, like the tops of my legs were ton weights and I wasn’t strong enough to move them to get up! Managed to unstick myself after a few mins – before the ‘blue screen of calmness!’ Found it hilarious – as did my hubby (didn’t work on him but he only came down half way through the programme – maybe you had to watch it all?). He reckons he’ll be able to ‘suggest’ things to me now! Great show looking forward to next week! xxx
26. Wow, Derren, you’re not having much luck. My thighs felt really heavy, but I could still get up at the end of the film (Although, my sister was giggling in the corner, so that could have distracted me.)

27. i wasnt got up normally but my legs hurt and they feel weird. my fiancee was totally stuck and her legs feel weird too
28. As normal, didn’t work on me, I find this kind of thing amazing and think he does know how most minds work, and there is something to these things, but they never work on me,

    I wonder why?

    I would like to try one of his shows live and see what happens then,
29. I was not stuck to my seat but I shall note a few differences in my surroundings as it was stated that the conditions in the room was perfect:

    -I have my laptop on
    -I have a lot of loose stuff around my room from pots of glue, models, wires and sheets of paper etc unlike those in the experiments shown on the tv.
    -My room is rather small
    -A clock was ticking and my laptop fans were working (not over-working)
    – I had a small televison

    So no the video did not paralyse me although my hypothesis is that because of my largely different environment this was the case.
30. Quite honestly I was stuck! OK I was sat on my seat watching and the following things happened… The “Lines” at the point of spining drew me in and got me focused. At the point towards the end of the spining lines I felt quite heavy a bit of an odd experience.

    At the point of trying to stand up I was able to get a little of my chair but I could NOT straighten my legs to stand up fully really odd! My knees were stuck and my leg felt like I had hiked 10 miles none stop.

    I am a bit speechless was a great eperiment!!! BTW I studied PWA as part of Psychology degree and wasn’t expecting it to work at all!

    Well it did for me and I am made up!
31. Legs went all numb about half way through, but when it had finished I could move them, and my arms. I thought it hadn’t worked. Then when I tried to stand up, I couldn’t! My legs were soooo heavy. I just couldn’t do it. They’re still a bit wobbly now. That was brilliant!!

33. i dont think the modern mind can switch onto this as there are far too many distractions both visually and mentally….i hate to say it coz i love the guy and think he is fab…but this has knocked him down a couple of levels….he may argue that i not responsive….everyone is a winner eh?

35. i was dissapointed that me, my mum, and all of my mates wern’t afected at all =[ however, my pet cockatiel has a habit of watching the tv with us, and he tends to pace alot, however he did not move after the clip until that blue screen thingy was shown. may have just been a coincidence but it was quite interesting!

41. Neither I nor my girlfriend got stuck but I may have spoiled it by laughing during the vid because of the absurdity… Derren really DID control the nation – he got them to sit in a certain way and watch a weird video.

43. I couldn’t even turn my head or open my mouth. Could only blink. Even when I went to sneeze I simply ended up with a watering eye and no sneeze. When somebody asked me if I was stuck I could only blink at them and continue my frozen, inane smile.

45. my god how totally weird this was — though i felt really relaxed i moved my back away from back of sofa but i couldnt move my legs i could eventually get up but it was a really strange experience never felt anything like it and i got a shudder down my spine shortly afterwards

    my sister took part and she lives 12miles from me and she told me this on MSN

48. You made me feel physically sick; not quite stuck but a very heavy feeling came over me. Awesome (can feeling physically sick be awesome?)

    Also, before you played the music to the guy who picked the chair, pens and numbers I had a strong sense it was me… Not sure how but as you asked him to pick I said outloud what I would pick – and was right.

    Crazy! I love it so much but it scares me a lot too.
49. OMG yes! elbows got stuck to the chair! I couldn’t feel my feet and hysterially laughed all through the white liney video.. strange!
