Ta Ta Twitter for Tour
I shall, just whilst touring, sign off from Twitter. There are a few needy souls there who step up into frenetic activity at tour time and can cast a dark cloud over the whole thing: I find they’re much nicer to meet without a flurry of desperate messages before and after. Twitter sadly does them no justice.
The blog shall of course continue to feed through, and I shall most likely post upon it, now and then as we go along.
I look forward to seeing some of you on the road, and must gently ask again that people don’t turn up bearing gifts, as some regularly do: they’re very hard to keep hold of when we’re touring and you spending your money on tickets is more than super-kind and embarrassingly generous enough.
Right, Woking awaits. Last night I realised a minute before going on that I was wearing ridiculously striped socks. I had to change socks with Coops. This is not a good thing: he has a famously adventurous approach to foot-hygiene. Luckily, my magical powers were not too deeply affected.
Today I have chosen more carefully.

“Break a leg” and other such performance cliches!
tragic turn of events this evening ladies and gentlemen.
That’s a real shame Derren. I look forward to your blog posts, and to Svengali in Liverpool on Tuesday.
All the best,
R.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Too much?
Good luck on your tour… I shall be stalking… Hem… I mean seeing you in Oxford.
PS – That is my poor attempt at wit… I am not actually crazy (Pretty sure I’m not anyway)
Woohooo the tour is starting! 😀 can’t wait til may 18th, Alexandra theatre, Birmingham. Travelling from Swansea even more excited about this one than the 1st show I saw of Derrens last year – Enigma in Bristol. It was mind blowing which has made me super excited and hyper about Svrngali 😀 will take note this time of not bringing gifties, your brownies love giving you gifts though Derren! See you in may 🙂 🙂 xxxx
Maybe you should just give up on Twitter, not sure you get it or like it very much. We’ll be more than happy with the blog. Good luck for the tour.
Derren you were fab last night at Woking whether it was with striped socks or not!! It wasnt your feet we were looking at, specially towards the end of the show!
Amazing evening and great to briefly meet you after.
Good Luck Derren!
You are fantabulously amazing enough to see on stage, hearing your updates on tweeter is simply greedy to ask for ;D
I guess it’s understandable. Probably for the best. Shame you have to avoid twitter because of particular people. See you in Edinburgh. 🙂
Derren, your tour is great ….And Svengali, what a pro!
Thx for signing my book to!
HARRY
Perfectly understandable. Good luck with the rest of the tour, looking forward to seeing you in July.
So excited about seeing you at Sheffield in May. Wishing you all the best for the tour. I will miss your tweets! Toodle pip. x
I kind of feel chastened now about the item I handmade & presented to you as a gift on the tour’s opening night (Brighton). I’m sorry if it was the wrong thing to do.
I wish you luck with the rest of the tour. Svengali is a really wonderful show.
Take care

Cannot wait to see you in London Derren! 😀
VERY much looking forward to see you on Saturday night, Aim high, in the middle and to the left please 🙂
I think I can just about forgive you Derren 😛
So excited to see you in Grimsby on the 28th 😀
x
Ahh makes sense,
some creepy people out there :’)
Looking forward to seeing you in Liverpool on the 24th!
x
I can’t wait to see you next Tuesday in Liverpool! I drew you a card last year when I saw you which I don’t really consider a gift… but… I’ll bring nothing this time. Ha!
I’m sure Svengali will be even better than Enigma, if that is at all possible 🙂
So looking forward to your show in Liverpool on 24th March it will be my first time seeing you live, after watching a recording of Enigma which I thought was brilliant I just thought I must get tickets to see this. Lots of luck for the tour xx p.s. stripy socks are fine by me in fact I insist you were them now 🙂
Is there a subliminal message in there that is really saying please buy me non stripey socks.
Looking forward to the rather posh Bradford Alhambra instead of St George’s Hall (oh how the might have risen).
Will miss your musings but totally understand the reasoning.
Good Luck and all that
jo
Really hoping that I get to see this tour, I loved enigma!!
Altho being 9 months pregnant isnt the best time to pop to my local theatre =P
So I reckon il see how it goes lol
Good luck and all the best!!
it always amazes me that you even go into your @ replies after shows lol
i dont use twitter anymore really so im not actually bothered lol it opened my eyes to a world of crazies so i totally get where youre coming from!!
See you in G town 🙂 it better be a good show, considering im letting go of my morals and going to Grimsby for you lol!
😉
You brits are so lucky to be able to go and see Derren in one of his live performances! I’m even contemplating ignoring my extreme fear of flying and ear problems to come from Romania and see Derren at one of his shows.
Don’t mind the Twitter haters Derren, you go get ’em and have the best performance ever!
Give Twitter a miss and forget about the minority who seem to spoil it for the rest of us. I will be happy to read your blogs as and when you get a chance to write and that will be enough for me seeing as I am unable to se the tour this year. I’m still holding out for MK next year, fingers crossed you’ll make it there. Good luck for the rest of the tour.
Take Care

See u in Edinburgh and I look forward to ur return to Twitter. Enjoy your tour Mx
Alas! Wishing you all the best for an enjoyable and amazing tour, Derren. Although your tweets will be sorely missed, the opportunity to see you live will be ample compensation. Very excited about London in June! May your performances be inspired and fare thee well until post tour. 🙂
That’s a VERY GOOD idea. It will work wonders for many Tweeters lives (And Bottoms & cellulite) 😀 And I’m sure your sanity. Enjoy the rest of your tour the way it should be.
Looking forward to seeing you at Bradford Alhambra… hopefully i can get my book signed this year. Wishing you all the best for this years tour xxx
So what am I to do with this novelty hamster on a string I was going to give you. I spent ages at the taxidermy. Oh well good luck on the tour!

had an amazing time last night watching Derren’s new tour Svengali at Woking. It was absolutly incredible and had me on the edge on my seat by the end! Better than last years in my opinion. If you have the opportunity to get tickets to see the new tour i mist certainly advise it. You will not be disappointed!
amazing night Derren, all your and your teams hard work once again was worth it!

Saw svengali last night… It was amazing!! Loved it, anyone who hasn’t already got tickets get some!!! It was so good, good luck for the rest of the tour xx

Will miss you but definitely sounds like the right thing to do. I’m sure the tour will be fabulously fantastic as usual- hoping to catch it next year!
Best wishes to the team. Watch the throat Derren. Enjoy and relax.
Will miss your tweets but am really looking forward to seeing the show! Yeay!!
figures, i finally get on twitter & you get off it. sigh. well, good luck…& let’s hope yer feet dont grow any fur! 😀
Saw the show in Woking this evening, I have four words to describe it:
Absolutely brilliant, utterly bonkers!
My housemate and I loved it and were suitably baffled, impressed and amused. Also, a shout out to those people that rarely get mentioned – the set designers – brilliantly done, looked amazing, really added to the atmosphere. Hope everyone else in all the future shows enjoys it as much as we did. 🙂
I’m going to keep to my word and not tell anyone about anything 🙂 my lips are tight shut! x
Saw the show tonight with 5 friends, we all loved it like we did with Enigma last year! Unfortunately last year we went on one of the few nights you weren’t signing, but were successful tonight – I want to say thank you for taking the time to sign, have pics and a brief chat 🙂
No gifts? What if we brought perishables such as cakes and sandwiches for the crew? Haha!
I’m looking forward to the show! Have a safe journey on the road.
Hopping on a plane from Copenhagen to see your show in Grimsby. Can’t wait!!!
Ah the Twitterverse isn’t always good then 😀
Can’t wait to see the show – wish I could have come to Woking, but coming to London for your opening night and very excited I am too!!
Good luck with the tour (and the socks 🙂
Sarah xx
Good luck, hope all goes well. And stripy socks are fun! Lol. xxx Would love to go to one of your shows but I think I would have a heart attack before I even got there, HAHAHA! I feel queasy just thinking about it…..:S (because I think you are absolutely amazing). xxxxx
There’s always the Micheal Jackson look?

Good luck!!! Looking forward to the show in Northampton!!xxx
I cannot WAIT for the show on Tuesday, I’ve been dreaming of seeing you on in real since I watched your first show. I keep trying to learn Neuro Linguistic Programming but I know there’s more too it. Anyway, sorry to hear about the socks!
Hope all goes well with the show and see you on Tuesday.
