Heads-up on a few things probably coming out
Subject to all sorts of possible changes, the following goodies (or baddies, really depends) are planned: the ‘Enigma‘ show should be broadcast (in it’s 3-hours-squeezed-into-one-and-a-half form) around mid-December, and hopefully in early January, a documentary about my good self will air for those who enjoy such things, alongside a broadcast of the most-voted-for-fave-special (you can vote, I am assured, here). My oldest pal from school (now a multi-award-winning filmmaker) was approached, quite by coincidence, to make the documentary, and it’s deepened our friendship and been a real joy exploring some nostalgic avenues together.
Also, in January, I’m quite excited that they’re planning to release a box-set of the stage shows (at least the ones that made it to TV). So Something Wicked, And Evening of Wonders, and Enigma will be all nicely packaged up for your DVD delectation. Imagine! What larks.
As you may know, I’m writing the new stage show, Svengali: the long and short of it is that we rehearse next January/Feb for the tour that starts in March. And somewhere in there we hope to film a new special, though when that will make the screens I have no idea.
Um, that’s it for now. Today I’m drinking tea and painting Patrick Hughes and I’ll show you that and the little story around it when it’s done.
Ta-ta,
D

Cannot wait for Svengali
Any news on a London venue and dates????
Brilliant news!!
Looking forward to the new show. Have a couple of front row tickets booked.
sounds like a great line up for the start of the year Derren… cant wait! 🙂 x
EEEEEEEEEEE! I am so excited! Please don’t ever stop what you’re doing! LOVE YOU! xxx you’re awesome.
So pleased that Enigma is finally going to be televised it was such a fantastic show (saw it twice and it was just as good the second time!) Can’t wait for Svengali but no theatre’s local enough have been added yet… so I;m keeping watch for new venues being added….
Yay! Been dying to see enigma again for ages!!! Really looking forward to the documentary. Unspeakably excited about Svengali, but I have to wait until May! Agh. Oh well, good luck writing it, Derren.
The Great One made a spelling mistake, ‘it’s’, mooohaha 😛
Looking forward to each of those! 😀
At the end of Hero at 30,000ft, it said someone else was gonna have a special about them (counting down 30 days til it happened), did that fail or something? :/
Can’t wait to see painting!
Saw your work very recently in a London Restaurant. Amazing.
Wonder if it will have a 3D effect???
Oh that made me chuckle…. in jokes not being restricted to stage and screen now eh?!
Hehehe.
Look forward to seeing the new painting and the new show. 🙂
All sounds really good. Yeah is there any new on London dates for Svengali? 🙂
Can’t wait! Still looking for Svengali tickets though I’m afraid.
See you next year somehow I’m sure!
All the best,
Ryan & Rebecca
What happened after the hero at 30,000ft programme? Derren hit the timer to start another 30 days as if he was going to do another one? But i have seen or heard nothing about it since.
I can’t wait for the new tour!! I have tickets booked on the day before my Birthday!!
I love Derren Brown, he is amazing!!!
Brilliant! I love to read about how creative people are busy enjoying both their own creativity and that of others that surround them! I shall enjoy seeing you both on the telly and on stage next May/June in Bristol.
Tour Australia please.
The 30 days timer was meant to signify that it was your chance to make a hero of yourself and make a positive change, not that he was going to do another episode.
Anyway, looks like a great line-up, looking forward to it.
Is this what you wore to Thorpe Park?!?! XD I hope so. Because creating something people would actively want to look away and forget as your disguise would just be utter, utter genius.
On the other hand, you may just be trying to manipulate us all into sending you postal orders for 20p. But that’s all right, we love you anyway!
Booked my tickets for Svengali today, can’t wait!!!
Looking forward to ALL of that! 🙂
P.S. ‘long and short’ – nice one!
Hooray! Very much looking forward to the documentary. And ever since we saw Enigma and raved endlessly about it our friends and family have been asking us when it’s out on DVD, so happy faces all round!
Tickets all booked now for Svengali, could not be more excited to see what wonders you’ve come up with for this one! 😀 x
Ah and just as an aside, we’re coming to see you on 22nd May which will be our first wedding anniversary!
X
Derren
Im goin to see you at the Bic in Bournemouth June 3rd and June 4th next year
PLZZZZZZ come out after the show ?
I SO want a photo with you =)
Ive been to all your shows, so you kinda owe me I figure lol
If I could be anyone, in the whole world, it would be my Uncle Charlie who lives in Seattle. However you come a close 2nd =)
Love x
1st time I saw the picture at the top of the page: Why is there a picture of some random person?
1 minute later: Wait a minute he looks vaugely familiar……..
About 30 seconds after looking at the picture again: Ooohhhh it’s derren
🙂
Svengali ticket for Brighton booked and delivered within 24hrs – well done Theatre Royal – but now have to sit here clutching ticket until March!
Glad to know broadcasts in the New Year will help fill the gap. I voted for Heist cos that is my favourite, but am hoping that Seance or Russian Roulette wins cos I haven’t seen them yet …
Ive already got my tickets for the show in Southend, whoop whoop
Awesome Mr B! Look forward to it all : ) Have a Merry Christmas!
Ah, looking forward to the festive season even more now. And just voted for Messiah, one of my favorite ever programmes.
Our vicar did a disguise like that at our church and camped out on the steps to see if we were good Samaritans to strange unkept people. He got ignored aswell,,
Ok… This may sound starnge, but here goes… i’m interested in what you do and i always watch your shows. i would love to actuallly go to one of them but i can’t. That’s the problem. It’s not because of anything strange (I hope!) but the reason is that, unfortunately i’m under the age that you need to be to watch one of your shows live is it posible to… tweak or change that rule slightly with a guardians permission?
Thanks
😀
Finally, we the citizens of various far away lands will be able to see Enigma!
A glorious day indeed.
Svengali… the long and short of it is… priceless…
Everything sounds just wonderful Derren,……watching Enigma again, the new documentary, the new special and then Svengali, of course, as well. What more could we ask for?
I never cease to marvel at all the hard work and dedication you put into every aspect of everything you do. We’re truly lucky to have you in this country doing what you do best and I thank you for being the person and performer that you are.
Take care
LC x
If you go to Australia make sure you pop across the Tasman and perform in New Zealand. You have a big fan base here. All the best.
Oh Derren whenever will you make an appearance in Australia specifically Melbourne
Loving the choice of pic. I popped by its location to say boo at it. Hope I didn’t scare you. :p
Enigma DVD? Awesome!
“Region: Region 2 (This DVD may not be viewable outside Europe. Read more about DVD formats.)”
Aw…
‘Svengali: the long and short of it…’
Very good. 😉
I’m with George, when will you be making an appearance in Australia? 🙂
Would be fantastic if that boxed set contained extended cuts of the live shows…
You can run, but you can’t hide. Spot you a mile away, even with the visage.
@Dave – I was thinking the same thing. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the ‘live’ boxed-set DVD’s had added extras for those of us who already have them in singular form? 🙂
LC x
Never bought an Derren Brown dvd, but a boxset would be nice to do.. but it wonder if the dvd’s and this new one and boxset have the whole show on it, or the tv- versions (aka 3-hours-squeezed-into-one-and-a-half form-versions)
stefan: The theatre show DVDs (at least the ones out atm) have the condensed TV version on them, along with some ‘deleted scenes’. So it’s not the entire show, but not quite as abridged as what you see on TV.
Excellent! Enigma was superb – looking forward to Svengali.
That sounds like a thrilling line-up to look forward too. I’m excited to say my Svengali tickets have arrived and I can’t wait to see you in April – it should and will be fantastic, I’m quite sure.
@Jake I think it was for ourselves to sort our life out over the next 30 days and perhaps experience a little paranoia. @Abeo Any blu-ray’s?
really looking forward to it! Any Irish show to go ahead??
Have already booked tickets for Birmingham and so excited about seeing the new show 🙂
Can’t wait for Enigma on dvd – amazing show too.
xxx
Thought you might approove.
