Take part in The Events!
Come and be involved in my nationwide experiment, and be part of The Events.
Yesterday evening, a curator of London’s famous Science Museum drew a picture in secret, wrapped it up in newspaper and placed it in the museum on display. No-one but she knows what it is.
Until next Thursday, 3rd Sept, this picture will remain on display for any of you who wish to take part, to come and look at the wrapped-up picture and attempt to sense what the image is. The only limitation placed on the curator is that she was to draw some ‘simple design’, to make the image relatively straightforward.
If you would like to take part in this experiment into psychic ability which will form part of one of The Events, please visit the Science Museum and follow the signs to the picture.
Good luck! Your guesses will be shown on TV in September.
Best wishes to you all,
Derren

I reckon it’s a schoolbook-style willy. Three hairs per cojone, as per the universal rule of maths exercise books everywhere.
DAMN!
I was in London on Wednesday! Nooo! I’m GUTTED!!
π
A simple house drawing would be too obvious, so I think it’s a tree instead. Can’t wait to see what it is!
Can’t get to London….. but I’m guessing it’s a church or an atom π
I’d love it to be a drawing of a massive bag of chips! … the irony π
Looking forward to it! Keep kicking ass!
Col.
You used newspaper to cover it? That’s interesting.
I’m stuck in Canada. I would very much appreciate it if someone could get down there for me and enter my guess, which is a picture of Criss Angel levitating into Heaven to fight the angels and take God’s place as ruler of the universe. It’s in stick figure style, which makes it a simple image.
I have no belief in phsychic ability and am 250+ miles away, so if it’s an ironing board I’m screwed
Can I come, even if I am Russian? I will be there!
Thanks π That’s clearly a ruler in that case π
always in london π people live in north england too you know
You already know what I think it is!
I am at a disadvantage as I live in south Africa…… however despite this minor detail I am quite proud to announce that I do in fact know what simple design the curator has selected to draw.
1. she used a black felt tip pen on white paper
2. she drew an atom (specifically a Lithium atom hence there will be 3 electrons drawn in an elliptical orbit around a central nucleus consisting of 3 protons and 4 neutrons
3. she drew this picture centre bottom of the page.
so there….
It’ s a cat! My housemate told me! but then he said mouse, or banana, or an elephant. He’s not very good is he?
Its a cat… its always a cat!!!
Damn it! I’m too far away with no free time π
My guess is it’s a bus π Derren I think you should collect all the blog guesses for all the people who can’t make it!
OoOoh! I was playing to take the train up to central London… I’ll think about it! π
Kris…
I had thought ‘boat’ before I finished reading the blog entry and before I’d clicked on the Comments.
Thank you for freaking me out. π

I wonder if there will be some subliminal messages around the museum to help us? π
OK lets try and think this through. A female museum curator asked to draw a simple image… When Derren has done this sort of thing before he has said it can’t be a stick-man or anything like that as would be too obvious.
With all the exotic and interesting things this person must have seen, I’m guessing she will go for something quite mundane, and easy to draw under pressure (nobody want’s to look silly by drawing something unrecognisable). The term ‘simple design’ make me think of an inanimate object, so nothing animal or vegetable. My guess is either a cocktail glass or a piggy bank, or a globe.
Or maybe I’m completely wrong and it’s a bunny rabbit :O
its a tree!
or a cat/dog,
but im going with tree π
@Kris: I was going to say a boat! Ha!! I think that may be because it’s the only thing I can draw. π I wish I could get there to take part.
It’s a train
A cat! A cat! It must be a cat! π
Too bad I don’t live in the UK… Otherwise I’d probably be already at the museum π
What’s with the red line in the picture? Confusing.
Hmmm Newspaper, why newspaper? got to be a reason for that, Ive never heard of a picture wrapped in newspaper……anyway my guess is of course Fish & Chips!
Oh lame! I was JUST in London a couple of days ago and now i’m back in the far away land of Leeds π
i would have a loooooong swim from the U.S.! π
I bet it’s a house.. the phrasing – “simple design”, you can’t design too many things.. you can “draw” a lot of things, but can “design” few.. the first thing that goes through my head when you say “simple design” is the sketch of a house…
Its a palm tree. Can see it clear as anything!I live in sunny Scotland so i`ve got no hope of coming down to see it.Oh well….
It’s a star – a shooting star
I really shouldn’t pay to travel to London just to see it and guess, but I so want to.
Im going to London literally tomorrow o.O
Erm…. *looks at the bigger map*
Damn.. it’s just out of reach of where I’ll be about >.< grr
Hm … nice. The way you say come … is that said the same way as you said once to your producer in that buss (robbie williams – behind the scenes) … that she should talk to the shrimp .. is it in that tone of voice?
You wont remember ofcourse … but erm … that was not a request …. that was a direct order … ehehehe …
I know there are people who sense these pictures quite well .. I’ve never tried. I think I will have trouble to open up from the right focus … I normallly dont visualize … I need to go to another area in myself to do so.
An area I now and then use but not when I adapt to normal life. It’s my comedy area. Oh well …. all emotions can be there. It’s not my bases.
I probably would sense a lot of stuff being in front of that pic except for the hidden pic.
Ow .. amazing … I see a wheel .. a bike it seems … the early ones. The wheel was the only thing I saw .. the rest added my own brain I guess. Yep, the wheel probably has been added as well, although I was not seeing anything from down there yet.
Now, if someones sees wires .. and how they should be connected… please let me know …
It’s a flower.
Just realised, that 3D printer (previous post) is at the science museum. Whatever the curator has drawn, Derren has probably already made a 3d model!
Is it open on sundays?
I won’t get down there as I’m too apathetic and badly-organised. Nevertheless I have a tingle that says it’s a flower. Apologies for wasting your time.
Looking at all the circular/spherical objects in the background of the photo, I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s drawn something circular. Or is that too obvious a bit of suggestion?
Well I’m miles away (again!) but my guess is the female gender sign ie circle with cross underneath.
Looking forward to the new stuff,
Liz xx
Wish I could go but I can’t get up to London next week.
Hmm, if I was going to draw something relatively simple, I know I’d go for something like a cat, but I’m sensing something like a flower or a house. Something I myself would find easy to draw and something recognisable.
But I’m probably way off the mark…..
Good luck to all who try!

Ooh yay I just happen to be travelling down to London from Edinburgh to watch one of the Proms this weekend, will definitely be taking a slight detour before the concert!
Too far away :[ However I think it’s a ball. With a number on. Like a lottery ball :p
It’s an arrow in a circle
Sweet ! I’ll be taking a trip to London next wk!
From 1349 miles away in the middle of Alentejo under 40ΓΒΊ degres… I saw stars
Maybe was the sun and beer, anyway …If I got it right please feel free reward me with great prizes.
Since I obviously have too many time to spare, or else I wouldnt spend the most of my days watching Derrens clips on the web and reading this blog, I also accept a job as a reward π
Sadly I wonΓ’β¬β’t be able to get to the city but IΓ’β¬β’m going to have a think about what the picture might be nevertheless…… Very excited about Γ’β¬ΛThe EventsΓ’β¬β’…
I live in the north west and I am 15 so I will probs not be able to get down there but I sense that it is a simple drawing of the earth with the moon beside it.
Its a … uhmmm…. a ligthbulb. Thats my guess anyway.
