Kyle is 16 years old and comes from Hyde, Cheshire. He is living with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL).
Rays of Sunshine granted his greatest wish to meet Derren Brown and go to see his Enigma Show.
How sweet. Derren is such a lovely guy to make this young mans wish come true, good on you Derren. I had tears in my eyes watching at the end xxx

It amazes me when I see how powerful, control of the mind can be ( for lack of a better sentence)
What is the low down on how techniques like Derren uses (NLP) can help someone with a medical issue to be able to overcome or at least affect the problem positively?

Given what we know about placebos and psychosomatism, I wonder if Derren ever finds it tempting to send people (he obviously feels for this guy) a little ‘heal’ suggestion… I’d be fascinated to know if he’s ever played with this.
Kyle looks good- ALL is a rough cancer. (Not that there are happy, awesome cancers.) Yay for him!
Although practices like hypnosis and guided imagery can be beneficial to cancer patients for things like pain control and reducing anticipatory naseua (a conditioned response of vomiting before chemo is administered), there has been absolutely no sound evidence that these things can boost the immune system or cure cancer. There’s not really much evidence that nlp can be any help in relation to cancer, although since it partially relies on hypnosis and imagery I’m sure it can perform similar tasks.
It must be really weird to get a request like that. “Yes, this kid’s wish is to see you.” “Me???”
I guess that’s when you know that you’ve really made it – just appearing is a charitable act.

Wow what a tremendous strong young man, Kyle is. Such a heavy disease and look at him beam and full of life probably more so than many of us healthy people experience.
