Reminder: Svengali on TV Tonight 9pm Ch4 (18th Sept)
Just a little reminder that Svengali will be shown on TV tonight at 9pm on Channel 4.
It wasΓΒ filmed live in front of a sell-out audience at the Theatre Royal, Nottingham.
Please feel free to leave us your comments during and after the show.
As I’m not in tonight and don’t have skyplus. Will this show be available on 4oD? If yes, how long will it be available for?
Thanks
Matt

Looking forward to this!
You are a Legend π
I’m really looking to watching Svegali on TV tonight. I saw it last year when Derren was performing it at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking. I thought it was absolutely fantastic and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and experience of Derren Brown live!
I really wish belgian tv would buy the rights to air these shows… Will have to wait a long time now before I can watch this :(.. Anyway have fun & enjoy all of you! π
Can’t wait to watch this, wish the one I was up on stage for was recorded! Well done on producing such an amazing show Derren and thankyou so much for your lovely letter you sent me last year in response to the drawing of us I did you!! Hope you put the drawing up somewhere nice! Take care, Alex
I live in Copenhagen, DK, and travelled with my daughter to Southampton to see Svengali in the spring. It was amazing and we have been looking so much foreward to seeing it again on TV!
Unfortunately we can only catch BBC Entertainment…I don’t know how the British TV-channels are connectet to eachother, but do you know if there is any chance that the show will air on BBC E any time in the future?
All the best to Derren and the whole crew from Stine in Copenhagen!
Really looking forward to this! Derren Brown is an amazing performer and incredibly inspiring in his art!!! Would have loved to have seen the show love but missed!!! Can’t wait to find out what he has included in this show!!!
Cant wait for the show tonight.
During it I will feel “hash tag epic” lol.
I saw the show live in Glasgow, can’t wait to see it ob C4 again’
I have a favourite part. So influential. Shall be glued to my seat.
This time without any subtle persuasion / subliminal queues.
Stay awesome D & crew.

I saw this live in Nottingham this year, cannot put into words how awsome it was!!! totally had me gob smacked. Will deffo watch it tonight
Derren, I see you were on Carnaby Street today.
There is a riddle for the Storm shop window. Not sure if you know about it.
The riddle said that ‘My hiding place disappears too’ then wrote at the bottom of the playing card there was “3 is too low”.
In the window it was decorated with cards, a rabbit on top of a hat and a bottle hanging on string saying ‘”drink me’.
I figured it might mean you need to ask the attendant what card is inside the hat or to lift the hat.
Anyhow, was it anything do to with you?
Only 32 mins until Svengali too. Good luck fort the ratings etc.
Mark
Oh, Derren Brown and crew, I hope you understand how much torture I am going through now, with my sister watching Svengali on television 400 miles South, and me in my small university room with just a laptop and no Svengali on 4od. Sigh.
Also, I have a question regarding Derren Brown’s art book-is there artist information included in a foreword or something similar? I’ve just started a Fine Art degree and want to include his work somewhere along my course, so thought I should ask.
Thanks very much, and good luck with writing the next show!
Holly
that was very cool,
would love to see the show live,
will you be coming to Ireland anytime soon
Well well, feel like a comment hog but just want to express something.
That was spectacular TV and whatever is around the corner will be again too.
I actually shed a tear (yep spot the weirdo) when I saw your worldwide trend and top two trends in UK.
Just awesome Derren. Those 10+ years of TV have paid of. And I knew I put my interest in the right person from day one. The magician* that has stayed on and on and still growing in popularity and fame
Right from the first ad I’ve been here watching and hopefully for many more.
Congrats Derren & team on this super successful tour and all the best for everything you all do. Right I’ll pop off and let the others flood you with special messages and love and requests for marriage, healing and whatnot. Well done.
I’ve heard your call and i’m ready
I am currently watching this on C4 +1. This is very intriguing me on how the music being played on the background whilst on the Svengali is setting the mood of spookiness into the whole setting! I have a random question, have you ever thought of doing a show on the topic of medium, supernatural and afterlife? Not exactly thaose topics but something around it?
Enjoyed watching the show tonight on TV although it’s a shame that TV constraints meant that the whole show couldn’t be enjoyed by everyone.
What a show!!
Im speechless. Just speechless ….
I sat on my sofa mesmorised by everything that happened. I had tears in my eyes at one point with the occasional shiver running through me. Just wow!!
Im already looking at your tour dates for next year. Your a must see and I will do my damnedest to be there π
Thank you for such a fantastic experience, even if it was just from the TV screen.
π
Wow, great show.
Just a question : If you could pick 5 books that were the most influential in your career, what would they be?
Cheers
amazing show Darren !! love u lots, wish I could made it 1day to ur show live…keep on good work Xxxxxx…big fan xx
Wow!! What a great show!! Loved every minute of it xx
Cant spell my own name though!! xx
Hi Derren and team,
I saw Svengali in it’s first run and was interested to see the paint ball routine switched for the portrait which I preferred because it’s very you. However, the paint ball banter was very strong. What was the reason for the change?
Also you got all the numbers right in the ‘odds’ at Nottingham! Thought the slip when I came was a little convincer but apparently not. I guess that’s live entertainment but what entertainment!
Thanks again.
Richard
How fantastic was last night’s show? Funny, entertaining and truly awesome. I’d have Derren as a dinner party guest anytime π
hi derren this svengali thing is it the orginal? how much did u pay at audtion? do u personal belive that it has ‘powers’ xxxxxx and i loved the show
What will Derren be doing with all the paintings that he did over the course of the shows?
LOVED THE SHOW SO MUCH,
Jess
I’m left handed. On Svengali You said that left hand is the devils hand. Whats that about? I found it very interesting. Hope to hear from you. Cheers!
I thought the show was amazing but a tad obvious as to how it worked and what was going on at several points during the performance shown. I think you are totally mind blowing, but have to say (even though you will probably think I am an arrogant tosser!) there were some very transparent bits in it that could easily be worked out…..boo hoo! Cant wait to see you in Derngate……..hope I dont figure it out though! Still in total admiration though hun…..xx
Hi Derren
I watched your show tuesday and was gob smacked, you was fabulous.
Im looking forward to seeing you perform in April @ Derngate (Northampton), 3rd row back :-D.
Made sure i’d got a good view lol x
Derren,
Your art is utterly mesmerizing, and simply couldn’t be performed with more mastery and elegance. You’re going down in history for it!
Have a question about the portraits you painted in Svengali every night : What happened to them? On the night I came to see the show you painted Johnny Depp, it was exquisite, especially for a few minutes (partly upside down) work, I would have died (and paid) to have taken that home! Were they all just thrown away? Serious shame if so. It was my favourite part of the show – your irrepressible talent blew everyone away.
The new site has extreme awesomeness, class and style – just an extension of yourself naturally! π
Thank you for continuing to puzzle our little minds till they bleed and for being the most inspirational person I know of.
Wishing you huge success on Broadway too.
Leanne xx
well mr brown all i can say is
AMAZING
loved the show when i saw it live in leeds, and still loved it as watching it again now
can’t wait to see your new tour next year
steve n jess
Amazing show, really wished I had managed to get tickets when it was in Norwich! Hopefully I will manage to get some next time round – especially if you come to Ipswich! I don’t know if I will get an answer to this, but I have been hunting everywhere for the music that is used whilst a certain portion of the show is taking place – I can pick out some lyrics about a ‘weeping willow’ but can’t place it – if anyone could let me know I would love to find out as I want to add it to my collection! Many thanks and here’s to the next show!
Gary
This show was awesome, Darren was not only a great entertaining host but also a Master in his field!
What a show!!!! Pity the cut it short apparently??? Had tried to get tickets but struggled.. Great showman as per usual. I don’t check tv schedules so I blogged in the morning of the 18th asking about a possible dvd. and by chance that night at 8.30pm broused channels and found it?????? Mentalism stricks again?? lol
I saw Svengali live in London and watching it again was even more incredible. Nothing will ever beat seeing Derren amaze everyone live of course, but being able to sit down and watch it all unfold again and again… He took my breath away the first time and then all over again! There’s just something about the way he pulls off all these tricks while having the most brilliant stage presence that makes all of his live stage shows just incredible to watch and I am so happy to say I’ve now finally seen it all happen live. I’ll be there at the next one, and hopefully the next.
I got to meet Derren after the show but sadly he was in a rush – next time a photo!
Watched the show and loved it! I really admire him as an artist!
