Did you stick?
Well, there we go. Just got back.
I couldn’t say before the film that it wouldn’t work on all of you, as expectation really helps it work. Apologies if the film didn’t work on you, and congrats if it did. We had about 50, 000 calls come in on the night. Even though clearly some of those 50k wouldn’t have stuck and were just phoning to mention their genitals, those clever people who understand how to calculate viewing figures (that’s done, amazingly, from a group of only 1000 people with special buttons on their TVs) and the like reckon that we are probably looking at about 10 times that number in terms of people actually affected. So perhaps 1/2 a million of you were affected – hopefully we’ll get a better sense of how many in the days to come. I say round it up to a BILLION though – it has a nice ring to it. But ask around, you should all know someone who it worked on (if it didn’t work on you).
Two people stuck in the TV gallery too, which was a cheap laugh for all of us.
Thank you so much for watching, I hope you enjoyed the show. Next week, pen and paper ready please.
x
I didn’t get like seriously glued, but my legs felt so heavy and pins and needly, and it was hard to stand up. And then when i was walking around my house my legs were still so heavy. So odd. BUT AWESOME.
Thanks Derren.
i stuck, are you a jedi or something?
see you in april
No sticking for me unfortunately, although one of my twitter people were
Not this time Derren but maybe in the future…who knows? 🙂
SO excited for next week. Love you Derren! And yes, I did stick!
Nice show! Saw the man tied up pics. Didn’t get stuck tho. 🙂
My feet got stuck the 2nd time I watched it on Channel 4+1. It was really weird. It didn’t work on my sisters though.
Didn’t stick to my sofa, but it was a very good show 😀
My arms got stuck and now they feel really heavy. Got quite scared and wasn’t even properly concentrating on the film.
Cool Derren! Love you shows… especially The Heist
I didn’t stick, kind of annoyed about that, but there was a time where I felt like I was going to faint, this lasted about ten or fifteen seconds, everything in the room went a bit fuzzy except for the TV screen. Bit weird that.
I couldnt get up, my legs felt really heavy, felt like I was being pushed back in my seat.
Brilliant, worked first time. (: Can’t wait for next weeks 🙂
I didn’t stick and none of my family did, but I did feel that the movie had some sort of strange affect on me. I think I’ll watch it again on my own, I’ll be more relaxed. I was a bit worried the first time (you always fear the unknown!).
If you follow me on twitter i’ll update you Derren!

Hey Derren, Didn’t work this week but still an interesting watch. Will ask around, No one I know who watched it got stuck either. Dead keen to find someone who did.
I was stuck for a min or so. It was quite scary actually. My brother & sister didn’t believe me but I was really stuck. Thanks Mr Brown for another amazing show.
I wasn’t stuck, I felt like I might have been but my girlfriend was laughing hysterically and it’s really hard to zone out when that’s happening.
Hey, were the glowing pear things floating in front of the screen throughout the show part of the technique involved in sticking people to their chairs?
lol didnt stick but arms and legs got heavy
Poor dog.
I’m sure Channel 4 love you.
Great work with the homeless and giraffe stuff
Nothing for me. Watched it a few times on Sky+ under different conditions, lights on, lights off, HD and SD, nothing happened.
Maybe it has something to do with watching the whole show as there were many times I saw a picture flashed up for a frame.
Any explanations Derren like the Lottery thing?
Really wish I stuck! It would be a good teaching technique in class when I can’t sit still.
The video was a little weird. I expected a video like the one in The Ring for a minute ;P
I didn’t stick but thats probably because i was giggling the whole time because i was nervous and when i saw the man tied up with rope on the chair flash i started to get nervous… I said the whole time, its a trick of the mind, him saying these things to worry us with make it more effective etc… but i was till nervous… But i did feel heavier
Oh my gosh, it was so scary! I full on got stuck and then i started panicing! My back still feels funny now!. I thought i was going to be stuck there forever, Keep putting it on channel 4 so i can keep on doing it! 😛
Your amazing!!!
Love Olivia
xoxo
Didn’t stick, nor did anyone in the room. 🙁
Am chuffed it was so successful although still tad disappointed I never stuck. Finally stopped shaking now though thankfully 🙂
Am awaiting next week’s show very impatiently x
Sadly not HOWEVER!,
i couldnt stop blinking at the start,
i wanted to move my hands but couldnt,
my legs were really heavy !! 😀 😀
I got completly and utterly stuck to my chair i have never felt anything like that, Very Very strange but great cant wait for next week
watched it twice and didnt feel anything the first time but the second time although i could get up, my feet felt very heavy
well done derren!
Nothing to do with the film, just basic and rather intense hypnotic suggestion in the build up with the film as a focal point and relaxation technique (like a swinging pocket watch).
Clever stuff, well done on sticking quite a few!
i had a go at this & i did not stick but when i watched the video but i felt emotional. I felt like i wanted to cry but i controled myself & tired not to, but it was so strange.
I half stuck 🙂 Was a brilliant show tonight Derren. Well done.
I can’t post anywhere else for some reason so just want to say that the pic of Derren with the chair is so good. Gorgeous.
x
I completely lost all peripheral vision during the speech in the run-up to the film, which was very disconcerting.
And then I felt all heavy and yadda yadda yadda.
My Mom stuck, I didn’t. She really panicked as well, and hyperventilated, but then she was a bit drunk. (Also the “Stay calm” messages didn’t help at all ha! It’s the blue screen that unstuck her)
As for me, the only strange thing I did was tie a sock around my wrist without realizing. Then after the show my brother told me the pictures flashing up were people tied to a chair, and I wondered whether it was just coincidence that I did that, or the flashing pictures.
I misheard, and now I’m stuck to a freakin BEAR!
no one i knew got stuck lol. although we all saw the quick flashes on screen of the man on the chair! and the word “forget” kept randomly appearing.
HELP! I am in need of a poo, but I am concerned that I may get stuck to the throne! IS IT SAFE???
Hehe ok so I already posted my response in the OTHER blog post, but what the heck I’ll post it here too 😉
I was stuck! From the base of my spine to the very tip of my toes…
It felt like they were locked…like they weighed really heavily and I couldn’t lift my feet off the ground o_O
My back was fine, I could lean forward in my chair but couldn’t stand up at all.
Amazing!
Felt really great to actually be able to take part, rather than simply watching other people have all the fun 😉
Thank you Derren! xx
I didn’t stick but my legs did feel really heavy and I got that bit in the middle of the film where your body starts to fight against it. Even though it didn’t work, you are still amazing at what you do!
Thanks for an awesome show Derren.
I didnt stick, and neither did my girlfriend, but we did feel heavier and had slight difficulties getting up.
I do know people who it worked on though, and they were pure amazed.
Keep up the baffling antics, and I’ll be there next week with pen and paper in hand ready and waiting to be amazed once again!
i wish i stuck. :/
and LOL at the rounding up to a billion, and yes i actually did lol ^_^
I didn’t fully stick but my lower half was stuck for about 15-20secs. Juding by the four of us in the room I think it’s down totally to whether you are open to it. Nothing happened to my dad but he didn’t think it owuld work, he was too skeptical. Me and my mum, both of whom though it could really work, both got a bit stuck and were quite wobly afterwards. Well done Derren, once again you’ve been thoroughly entertaining.
🙂
I didn’t stick, but then my bloody dog started barking at the EXACT MOMENT your tape began!
Yep no sticking for me nor my dad or brother.
Myself laughed uncontrollably both times (+1’d it too)
And my legs felt heavy, but that was it.
Fantastic show as always, Derren. Loved it!! 😀
And whilst I wasn’t totally stuck in my chair, I did feel (like a lot of people) like the bottom half of my body was made of lead. I could get up but it was hard work. I was shaking and my heart was beating very fast. Took me a while to calm down.
Can’t wait til next Friday now…..oooh, I feel like Christmas is coming early each Friday at the mo!! 😮
LC x
I didn’t get stuck to my chair but I felt like it was going to work on me when Derren began explaining the film such as which position to sit in and to breathe in and out. I felt very heavy like I was sinking into the seat but when the actual film started it made me feel a bit sick and decided to fight against it and thought “I want to stand up” As soon as it finished I stood right up but felt terribly sick and dizzy and still do! I did just eat a Chinese though
I never got stuck, but looking at my friends status updates on facebook, it happened to a few people i know. Nice work DB!
started to do it, i’m 15 so my mum was in the room with me. i was sitting on a computer chair and started to watch the white screen. about 30-45secs through it i jumped up and started hysterically crying. i don’t know what came over me, it was horrible. i felt so heavy and weird. my mum had to calm me down and tell me i was okay. seriously, that was FREAKY.
I couldnt move from my seat un til told to and still have a vey stiff neck, like its in a brace!!
My upper body was fine. My thigh muscles felt tense, my calves went numb and my feet freezing cold. I couldn’t stand at all.
I was the only one in my household to get stuck and none of them believe me!!
Such an odd and very scary sensation. I was so skeptical to begin with too!
Still don’t feel quite right… 😀
xxx
When the lovely thing gets to youtube, should we assume it doesn’t work? Or should I watch it anyway? Not enough Derren here in the states!
