Did you stick?
Well, there we go. Just got back.
I couldn’t say before the film that it wouldn’t work on all of you, as expectation really helps it work. Apologies if the film didn’t work on you, and congrats if it did. We had about 50, 000 calls come in on the night. Even though clearly some of those 50k wouldn’t have stuck and were just phoning to mention their genitals, those clever people who understand how to calculate viewing figures (that’s done, amazingly, from a group of only 1000 people with special buttons on their TVs) and the like reckon that we are probably looking at about 10 times that number in terms of people actually affected. So perhaps 1/2 a million of you were affected – hopefully we’ll get a better sense of how many in the days to come. I say round it up to a BILLION though – it has a nice ring to it. But ask around, you should all know someone who it worked on (if it didn’t work on you).
Two people stuck in the TV gallery too, which was a cheap laugh for all of us.
Thank you so much for watching, I hope you enjoyed the show. Next week, pen and paper ready please.
x
I didnt stick but really wanted to 🙁
Saw all 3 subliminals (if there was only 3) and didnt get a great look at any of them but noticed them
Also before the last break i felt really weird as derren was talking, zoned out completely on everything but his face which was totally clear
That felt so weird i thought it just might work
But i took my hands off my lap, and stood straight up 🙁
Hey Mr. Brown-did not stick this time but am goin ta try agan at 1140=rele wantd it ta happen!cant wait ta c nxts weeks show!!!luuuuvvvv u Derren-if i win the lotto il giv u haf 🙂 xxxx
my sister is still really stuck what can we do?
It didn’t work on me but I loved the show anyway. x
Yes, it worked on me! Very strange but very calm sensation, didn’t feel panicky at all but my brain was telling me (somewhere!) that I should be anxious by now! My friend (who looked away, chicken!) called my name afterwards, I couldn’t answer her but could hear her clearly. She said I was looking very glassily at the screen. All my limbs were heavy, my back felt stuck and I couldn’t even wiggle my fingers. Once the blue screen started with the instructions I slowly started to ‘come back’ and eventually stood up, but felt sluggish for an hour or so afterwards. In a nutshell, it was pretty amazing. Looking forward to seeing you live in April! Got our tickets through yesterday!
My back was very heavy not stuck but very heavy.
Also I thought there was subliminal stuff when you flashed that white image twice.
Amazing ! I was still stuck for 20 mins after the show ! My
ankles still feel very heavy. Just couldn’t get up. What an experiance.
I really enjoy the psychology behind it. May be you could do some “how your brain works” shows?
I stuck, even afterwards doing the washing up in the kitchen. Also I had a compulsive desire to contact Derren. Amazing! 🙂
Watched it again like promised, and was 2 feet from the TV. Dead silent, lights out – worked this time 😀
Legs ached and it felt weird. Got shivers down my spine.
WAS AMAZING. =D
My husband was so stuck he began to worry, now he refuses to sit down in case he gets stuck again
I didn’t get stuck the first time, but I watched it again and my legs got so heavy! And my arms felt really weak when I was trying to push myself out of my chair, it was sort of scary but exciting at the same time.
my back was very heavy, I was not stuck though.
There was two white images which flashed were they not subliminal messages?
This show was brilliant.
We ran a competition on it. We left a pound coin on the floor, and the first one to grab it could keep it.
Half of the people got stuck to the sofa, while the other half flew off. It was brilliant.
I won though! Hahaha 😛
Derren, marry me!!
Derren you genius you.
I wasn’t expecting it to work on me, but I just relaxed and when I tried to move, I couldn’t help but imagine I was sitting on/against an L-shaped piece of wood – maybe something to do with the grain I pictured resmbling the pattern of the film??? STUCK!
Genius.
My heart was pumping VERY fast. And hard. It began to hurt at one point, so I nearly looked away, but then I calmed a bit and my legs were the things that got stuck the most. Very odd but exciting experience! x
hello,i got stuck even though i was terrified of panicking if i did,i felt very relaxed but was crying, very very surreal!!!!!!!!!! i got up after about 2 minutes and instantly felt normal,my hands felt the heaviest while i was stuck and i got pins and needles in my feet. One very impressed lady here!
I didn’t get stuck but I felt like I was sinking into my chair during the video, and the second time I watched it ( channel 4+1) my hands got really heavy. My joints were all cracking after both videos, as though i’d been sat still for 15 minutes or more.
I completely stuck and couldn’t feel my hands; it was like they were asleep and went clammy then tingly, like they went to sleep. I went completely weird and laughed until I cried but couldn’t wipe my face! The hubby didn’t stick so just pointed and laughed. *Awesome.*
Brilliant show and the weirdest experience of my life! Can’t wait for next week!
Yep, it worked for me. I didn’t think it would, as the similar things during the live theatre shows never did. It’s a bit insulting that people are suggesting it’s because I am mentally inferior though :s
Didn’t work on me but the wife took 3 attempts to stand up and did feel heavy/weird…. Although I did spot the whit picture with the man tied to teh chair before it started (Maybe I do too much computer work!)
Hi Derren,
Just watched the show on Ch4+1. It didn’t work on either of us. I did feel quite light headed around 10 seconds into the film though. It wasn’t a scary feeling, in fact it was rather enjoyable! I’m quite disappointed as I wanted to stick. Our cat hasn’t moved since the film though!
All the best,
Lindsey, Kerry and Villi
I wasn’t stuck, i could move, but i was rigid watching ! amazing, great show. Hamleys, well done ! I love that store too :-D.
Next week sounds great :-D. Give yourself a pat on the back for another brilliant show.
Gem
My hands were stuck to my legs and my legs wouldn’t move for around 10 seconds. After that I could slowly stand up, but felt very weird and my legs were rather unstable.
Didn’t stick, but read your book this week so was clued into the clever language and little tricks you were using – extremely clever, but unfotunatley meant I wasn’t prone to it. Just watched again on c4+1 and tried to just ‘get in the moment’ and go for it. Came over slightly faint to start with, and then when trying to stand stuck momentarily for about 5 seconds, arms and legs felt very heavy – amazing stuff, just shows how susceptable we all are. Fantastic stuff Derren – well done, you are a genius. Looking forward to the next instalment xx
hey derren and co, amazing show very impressed lol i didnt get stuck for too long but i did sort of lose feeling in my arms and legs for a while and i couldnt get up for about 30 seconds, im glad you didnt steal anything off of the audience 😀 getting more excited with each week, you are the master lol
I stuck. Couldn’t move my legs off the chair….was weird, my arms and hands felt tingly and I felt very heavy too.
Great show…
OK, maybe I just worked myself up too much… I’m prone to anxiety attacks, so yeah.
During the actual film, I was completely out of it – it’s almost like going under anesthesia for me. I realise the film’s over and I tug myself off the sofa. I’m tingling. My feet won’t budge. My head’s thumping. My knees cave in. I sit myself back down and carry on watching; mildly disappointed. After the program finishes, I jump off my backside. I’m fine now. I walk into the other room… oh, I’m not fine. I’m tic-crazy. My legs are shaking, my hands tingle, my mouth’s numb, my head feels heavy.
Is it just my own imagination playing cruel tricks on me? Is anyone else experiencing similar symptoms?
Great show, D! You might just be a charismatic conman or the anti-Christ, but I love your mojo!
HELP ME IM STILL STUCCCK PLEASE CONTACT ME
Didn’t stick but legs felt quite heavy. Enjoyed the show greatly.
I’m rather surprised to see the blog headed up with the “All your base” meme, I didn’t realise you guys would be so net-savvy 😉
Anyway, damn you! I stuck for a while, then flailed my arms around trying to hoist myself up and nearly fell on my face in the process! I happened to record my reaction, and I don’t look forward to seeing it back but I just couldn’t stop laughing and going “MAN WHAT?”
Great job you crazy people!
I don’t feel very right after watching this and i’m not sure what to do. Don’t feel well at all, and my legs feel like they are not working properly. I’m a bit scared and panicky… not sure what to do… freaking out a little.
It didn’t work for me the first time. But then I watched it again on Channel4+1 with all the lights turned off.
It worked ALOT better the second time around – felt simultaneously numb and stiff in my legs, lower back and elbows.
I was stuck like glue, my whole body weighed me down into my chair and my arms kept pushing backwards… amazing 😀
Straight after the film i tried to stand up and succeeded, but decided to sit back down again to see if anything would change, and immediately got stuck! A feeling of being weighed down by a large bag of cotton wool. Interesting experience, thanks!
i had channel 4 plus 1 because my mate broke my concentration i was on my pc chair and no doubt i was stuck when i tryed to get up my arms where phsically shaking i was gob smacked good stuff im well happy
I stuck. But it was more to with poor hygiene than the suggestions.
I didn’t stick. 🙁 Wanted it to work though.
Actually Doreen M, I had a similar sense of fuzziness.
I’m accustomed to fairly frequent sleep paralysis and I expected it to feel a little like that. People who stuck (and who’ve experienced sleep paralysis), were there any similarities in the sensation?
Cheers though Derren, it was an interesting experiment. Looking forward to next week!
Nope, no stick. Shamez.
Apparently a few people did on their second go. Maybe doubling the length would work…
What is it next week then?
No sticking here for me nor my flatmate :(. We watched the show twice but nothing either time! My hands felt a little tingly perhaps and he started to feel as if he was having an asthma attack first time viewing (not quite the desired effect?!), but otherwise nada. Bit disappointed but interesting programme nonetheless. Where was the explanation you said you’d give at the end eh?!
Sorry Derren, no joy here. I tried to be receptive but I think deep down I probably didn’t expect it to work and that probably affected me. Nothing ever seems to work on me. 🙁
Good show though.
I got stuck! Great show Mr Brown! Your mind bullets are truly amazing!
I stuck. I didn’t expect to, but I did. It was rather disconcerting, but incredibly interesting. My feet still feel a little tingly even now.
I didn’t stick completely but felt very heavy, like my legs were melting!!
Also had a tingle in my stomach like excitement, the only downside was a sore neck!!
Heart rate crept up as the image spun, but would have liked a more extreme reaction.
Do more stuff for the viewers at home Derren, we can’t all afford to get to London
I didn’t stick but still mega excited about seeing Enigma in Feb! x
I’ve watched that whole show twice now to try and work out why it didn’t work on me….
no idea why, anyone got an explanation why it wouldn’t work on someone?
I did try to be all open minded and stuff, (which is a departure from my normal state of scepticism) but think I may just be a bit jaded??
DERREN, I LOVE WHAT YOU DO, I LOVE THE DEEP THINKING THE CALCULATIONS EVERYTHING!!!!!!!
I HAVE A LOVE FOR THIS THING ALREADY, ALWAYS HAVE FOR THIS SORT OF THING BUT I NEVER KNEW WHERE TO START, PLEASE GIVE ME SO ADVICE ON HOW I CAN LEARN THIS STUFF, SO MIND BOGGINGLY INTERESTING! THIS IS A PASSION OF MINE I KNOW IT, BUT WHERE DO I START!!!
EMAIL ME OR SOMETHING ……TELAPATHY PERHAPS..lol
Thanx
Damien
The first time I watched the film it didn’t really work, I just felt weird, shaky & very heavy & everything around the TV went dark & blurry. But i watched it again on 4+1 & it sort of worked! My elbow got stuck for a while, which was bizarre, but not for long. Then i stood up & sat back down, but after i’d sat back down my legs got stuck – they tensed up like they were resisting being raised but they did rise eventually. It just wore off a bit easily for me.
I haven’t owned a television since 2005 and only now am I really starting to regret it. Gutted to be missing this run of shows, Mister Brown…
