Well, there we go. Just got back.
I couldn’t say before the film that it wouldn’t work on all of you, as expectation really helps it work. Apologies if the film didn’t work on you, and congrats if it did. We had about 50, 000 calls come in on the night. Even though clearly some of those 50k wouldn’t have stuck and were just phoning to mention their genitals, those clever people who understand how to calculate viewing figures (that’s done, amazingly, from a group of only 1000 people with special buttons on their TVs) and the like reckon that we are probably looking at about 10 times that number in terms of people actually affected. So perhaps 1/2 a million of you were affected – hopefully we’ll get a better sense of how many in the days to come. I say round it up to a BILLION though – it has a nice ring to it. But ask around, you should all know someone who it worked on (if it didn’t work on you).
Two people stuck in the TV gallery too, which was a cheap laugh for all of us.

Got really stuck felt strange but weirdly relaxing and heat on my back was amazing couldnt believe it when you told us t stand as i did in a second, thank you for the experience look forward to next week
Absolutly brilliant. Couldn’t move for ages, the I finally get the move my arms and body, but my legs felt 10x heavier than they were before. Was great to be abale to have taken part and actully have it work on me.

Well, I had a bit of a headache last night so my concentration wasn’t all it could’ve been. Didn’t get stuck to my sofa. I would be curious to see if it works when I’m more alert, but I think I was checking at regular points in the show to see if I was still capable of standing up, so maybe I simply wasn’t in a suggestable mood.
BTW where do you put a plushy giraffe that size in the average home? Generous gift but awkward…
The only practical use I can see it fulfilling is a playmate for sexually frustrated giraffes left alone in zoos!
disappointed that I wasn’t stuck to my sofa after my 13 hour shift, 🙁 but it was very entertaining and excellently put together. I think perhaps my past life in advertising and interest in subliminals may have ruined it for me and made me rubbish subject for it. Still, never mind I enjoyed it and hope everyone else did. Looking foward to the rest 🙂
I stuck. I could move my head, arms and legs (from the knee down), but really couldn’t get off the sofa. Weird!
Unfortunately neither myself or my twin sister were stuck to our seats… however and this is STRANGE… Derren appears to have got into our heads…. my sis wanted to raise her hands above her head and I had some very vivid dreams about the man himself last night … like he was inside my mind … very weird…. couldn’t stop dreaming about him and this morning feel a bit fuzzy
Can’t wait for the next 2 shows and to see him live next year the guy is aweome…

I paniced too, heart racing, and white faced, especially because it didn’t work on my Mum, Nanna, Brother or step Mum. Everyone did state that they felt heavy and clumsy when they went to stand, my Nanna told me afterward that she freaked out halfway through the film and swiftly turned it over 🙂 .
My Dad has an excessively large Tele box situated in his front room and i parked my bum directly in front of it.
My Brother tried to prize me off the seat, failed dismally, i weigh around 8 st and he’s double my size, wonder how that worked? Surely i wasn’t heavier? Maybe i shouldn’t of had that curry last night…. :s
i was consentrating on calming my self down and after a while i found my self bouncing about in disbelief that it worked on me 🙂 brilliant.

I got stuck, twice! I watched it with my boyfriend the first time. I felt really heavy from my feet up but could still move my arms. It was like getting pins a needles which I think someone else commented on the show.
After I got unstuck I felt a bit silly so we watched the show again on 4 plus 1 to see what would happen next time. My boyfriend was really hoping it would happen to him but i didn’t and I was stuck to my sofa once more!
Really fantastic series, can’t wait for the next show.

I was stuck, boyfriend wasn’t, he got up straight away. Any time I tried to push myself up the energy just wouldn’t stick, the strength in my arms disappeared before I could try. When I tried to sit forward all the muscle in my chest and stomach tensed when I got about an inch away from the back of the chair, and I don’t recall feeling my legs much at all. It kinda felt like when you’re ill and the energy to do anything just isn’t there no matter how hard you try. It was a bizarre feeling, but I felt quite serene the whole time. Anyone else see a 7 during the film?
It didn’t work on me unfortunately, I was going to try again but the rewind functon wouldn’t work on the show??!!! So I tried to watch it again on C4+1 but my baby woke up just as the clip started. DOH!!!
Loved the whole show tho and it was very daring to do. We’ve all been talking about it in the office for a week so I can’t wait til Monday so I can find out who it worked on. Anything that can make me look forward to going to work is beyond impressive!!
Keep it up, it’s the only decent thing on tv at the moment. And come to Edinburgh on tour!!!!
Didn’t work on me but it did work on my mum who also got rather hysterical. It was only when our dog, Harry, physically intervened did she snap out of it. Maybe Harry has mind powers to match Derren’s?

I didn’t stick but my boyfriend did. He was amazed, I however wasn’t that amazed as he is usually stuck to couch most nights watching tv or on the’net. Loved the show! Can’t wait for more xxx
Maby just my imagination, but in the film did anyone else see a circle or ring formed of words? kind of in front of the lines? probably just my mind messing with me, but i didnt stick…

The lion King pollen puff thing…. it actually says “SEF” It’s less of a subliminal message and more the special effects team having a joke and trying to get recognision/a bit of attention but putting something noticable into the finished film. Don’t know about the other bits you mentioned but that one is quite innocent. If you watch it again now you’ll be able to tell that it says SEF and not SEX. It’s just cos SEF isn’t a real word so a lot of people assume it’s SEX. SEF it the short hand name for the special effects team. I think the other bits you mentioned are just people looking for things because they think the word SEX is spelt out so there must be more messages. If you try hard enough, you can find any message in anything. It’s safe for any child to watch

didn’t get stuck but i kind of wanted to, maybe i’m just one of those people. maybe it was the sedative affect of some of my meds, maybe it was the scar tissue in my brainstem and the message didn’t get through to the rest of me. but my ms gave me lead legs yesterday and i didn’t fancy getting up anyways.
BTW :- afterwards kind of glad i didn’t. peolpe discribeing a draining of energy and not being able to move sounds a bit like an attack of fatigue to me, i fight that most days anyhow. just too bloody tired.

Hi Derren, I got very stuck! I was watching in a house full of strangers. My head went back and I could not move! I had to really pull myself up, then slowly I regained my control back. Two guys had to lift me up though. Amazing. I also guessed the stacked block numbers correctly too. XD
I stuck, as soon as the film started playing I got the uncontrollable giggles too – very weird!

Me and my genitals did not stick, but apparently my tweeps on Twitter did. I could however see a man walking a dog on the screen at the time. Very strange.
It worked on me and i was a bit freaked out by it!

Hi, didn’t get stuck unfortunately but I did feel very heavy and shaky. All the way through the video my heart was racing so much, like it was trying to jump out my chest. I felt like I was wearing a onesie of medieval chain mail, really odd. It made me very tired and drained though, could hardly keep my eyes open. Been a bit of an insomniac for a while now and that was the best nights sleep I’ve had in god knows how long so thank you anyway Derren even if I didn’t get stuck 🙂 Btw that picture of the man tied up that kept flashing was so horrible, made me really nervous.
Looking forward to next week.
I got stuck and did start panicing when i found out it actually worked! What I later found out when talking to other friends who got stuck was they all saw the white flashes, but those who didn’t get stuck saw the picture instead of just a flash. 😀
i stuck man, i did exactly what you said as well and even after you freed me i was still stuck for like 5 minutes. my legs felt heavier my head pulled back my feet were all tingly could pull up one of my legs at a time and i could lift my bum as well but not all at the same time. if was really weird
I did it twice because I wasn’t really concentrating the first time, and I didn’t stick at all. I was well disappointed! I consider myself pretty “open and creative” like you said works best, but nothing. My feet went numb is about all. PUFF! And Chris ^^ I laughed fairly uncontrollably too. I got up to go to the loo straight after and panicked that maybe the effects were delayed and I’d get stuck there instead…I didn’t!
I live in Texas. I, of course, watched it on the internet and I know it wouldn’t work just like you said it wouldn’t but I reallllllllly wanted it to work. I’ve never fell prey to anything like this in my life and I’ve always wanted to. =(

Really disappointed not to have got stuck. Liked the rotating lines tho – was quite mesmerised. My son didn’t stick either, maybe next week we’ll get affected by your skills. Saw some odd flashes of images throughout the show tho – but unsure as to what they were. Good show tho.

Even though i persuaded all of my family to join in none of us got stuck : ( but many of mys friends did and have posted video proof on facebook of them trying (but failing) to get up

It worked for me but not for the 2 people I watched with.But at the start of the programme they were pointing out flashes that they said were part of it &I told them not to point them out when they saw them asI thought consciously noticing them would make it less likely to work.They said pictures were flashing up for the whole hour. My boyfriend also knows about camera angles/tricks & he noticed that when Derren was speaking before the film played something was going on with the camera that made you focus on him.He had a name for it which I’ve forgotten! But it worked as during that part of the programme I felt really focused on Derren – I do think that him knowing the camera trick made him less influenced by it. When I stuck I just felt that my feet couldn’t press down to stand up – odd!

Such a happy surprise after last week’s disaster and there’s no other word for it and unfortunatly I suspect the viewing figures will reflect that.
Veery freaky sensation. At first I couldn’t move at all, but it wore of fairly rapidly, leaving me with a dizzy sensation, like I was in a fever. I felt very sluggish and heavy, all I wanted to do was sit down again. And I thought I noticed the flashing pictures as well
I didn’t get stuck to the chair but my dad nearly did, he was so freaked out that he stood up as fast as he could although I wish it was me that got stuck 🙁
Hey Derren, I love your work and i study right into it. Im only 16 but your like the only person that doesnt fake it out there. Can i just say, Thankyou so much for the experiance, My uncle, sister and myself were stuck. Everytime i tried to get up, i got pulled back. Very strange.
I will be watching next week, These fridays make me look forward to something. Because i really hate college, I just started. So to have something to look forward to every friday is amazing. Please keep up the shows buddy. Yuor helping me alot and im sure loads of others.

I was watching it with my family, but it sadly didn’t work. But I think the reason for that was I was pointing out to everyone the fact that you were using ‘hypnotism’ before and after the film, which makes me wonder whether the film even did anything but to convince us that the trick was going to work…?
Congrats though, I am now the official nerd of my year 11 community at pointing out to everyone who it didn’t work on that it doesn’t work on everyone. Sadly, they still think your a complete and utter con. But hey, I read books =D x
first off great show last night and very weird. didnt work on wife, actually had oppsite effect and got her unglues from the sofa lol, and me stuck to it. everytime i tried to lean forwards to get off sofa my stomach muscles tensed up and stopped me and my legs, mainly my thigh area really just couldnt be arsed to help me get up. ever thought of releasing 1 of these for people who want to give up smoking? anyway once again top show and really looking forward to next weeks
Hi Derren, I’m really enjoying this series. And last nights show was great. I stuck to the settee and tried so hard to stand up but couldnt, even my friend who it didnt affect tried to pull me up off the seat. My arms and legs were tingling it was really weird.

Watched the show and I got stuck much to the amusement of my son. Then this morning I watched it again and my hubby joined in, i got stuck but he didn’t much to his disappointment. Looking forward to the next show.

Great show I watched and when the film came on felt that i was drifitng slightly. At the end of the film i could not move my legs, arms or my body from shoulder downwards. Also had a tingling sensation in my hands and fingers which when i could move were very cold. Only when the release screen came up could i move. Very impressive subliminal suggestions all the way through the program. Excellen Look forward to seeing more!
